The only online game I play on a regular basis is Team Fortress 2, so the benefits of team-switching just before the end of the round might well be lost on me, but I think it smacks of cowardice, really. Besides, aren't last stands against a superior foe far more exciting than simply defending until a round ends? Or, if you're playing team deathmatch, being the last man standing? Maybe I'm the only one who enjoys such things.

The subject of the thread was team-switching in TF2 when you're on the losing side.

MY first post is, surprise surprise, in the Zero Punctuation comments. Nice to see my love for Prince of Persia and my complete lack of comprehension for the english language and spelling are still apparent. Notice also my relish in finding a site where the word "shit" isn't bleeped out.

Thing with assassins, as long as you arn't driven so insane that you shove pencils into your ear and play with your brain by the irratating stuff it's a really great game. But honestly nothing drove me more insane than the end of the game. It's the most quiet possibly the shittest cliff hanger in all of shitty land and didn't leave me begging for more, it's just left me feeling shit.

Maybe it's just my love of Prince of Persia that makes me give it thumbs up. Again, nice review.

Okay, I had to register to get this off my chest.

If you're trying to get into a beta with the thought, "Hell yeah, going to play this game before everyone else" going through your mind, then kindly stop trying and wait until the game is completed. Betas are not there as a see-this-game-first scheme, or as a demo. They are there for the people who plan on buying and supporting the game to help the developers in finding the bugs any pre-release game has.

Betas are NOT meant to be fun. You have to constantly be in the right frame of mind, thinking "How am I going to break this game today" every time you log in. You need to be in regular contact with the developers, telling them what's going wrong so they can fix it before its released to the general public. And for those who do this as their career? Well, I can't say I envy them. It's a largely thankless job, and by the end of it you're probably too sick of seeing the game to fully enjoy it.

So with this out of the way, no, I'm not interested in beta testing. I'd much rather leave it to the people who are more experienced or knowledgeable and wait until the game is fully released.

Apparently this was my first post. I'd completely forgotten about it until now, heh.

I don't hate Halo 3, or any of the other Halo titles, because hate would imply I cared enough about them to get angry. Everything I've seen from that series has provoked a resounding "Meh". No, what bothers me is the ridiculous success this relatively mediocre series achieved - success that has less to do with the merits of the product and more to do with the circumstances of its introduction and medium of presentation - and the impact this has on development of future titles. The idea that Halo is somehow the pinnacle of the FPS genre is troubling, since success and acclaim lead to imitation, and the fact that the term "Halo-clone" has any semblance of meaning illustrates that we already have more than enough would be Halos.



The original Halo is successful because it was THE big fish in a small pond when it was released. If Halo had been a PC FPS originally, nobody would be having this argument, as it doesn't compare favorably on that platform at all - there were/are simply far too many excellent FPS titles on the PC for the well executed mediocrity of the Halo series to make much of an impact amongst the jaded PC FPS fans. Reviewers and gamers would have panned it as yet another over-hyped game that spent way too much time in development only to end up underwhelming. Fortunately for Bungee, Microsoft's purchase of their company and the subsequent shift to an X-Box exclusive release changed their 'so-so' PC/Mac shooter into a 'fantastic' console FPS (which says a lot about the state of the competition at the time).


So yeah, I don't hate Halo 3 or any of the other Halo titles because they aren't bad games - for a game to provoke actual hatred it has to do a lot more than just "not be particularly interesting or exceptional", for that your game pretty much has to be aggressively offensive to the point where the act of playing it is just one continuous insult to the player, and those titles are thankfully quite rare.


The Halo fanbase on the other hand is indeed a collection of aggressively offensive jackasses that engender reactions of intense loathing and antipathy, so I definitely hate them!

My first post was an answer, to a thread about anime suggestions.

I would suggest d gray man it may start out a bit slow and boring but if you give it some time. It becomes quite good with a great story and likeable characters. or if you want to laugh then ghost stories is a good choice I was in hysterics within the first two episodes.

I don't really see a lot wrong with the post, I answered the thread fairly and didn't say anything stupid.

when i was still playing on the ps2 a lot of original games were coming out. and they were fun (ie: psychonaughts) because of the lack of online. due to people playing on their own game developers relied heavily on story and combat. now very few games are like that due to the big obbsession with online play and mainstream. saying that games like left 4 dead and brutal legend bring something back thats original yet works well online. and games like assassins creed will force developers to think of something different....hopefully. the other problem is the lack of good split screen games!

Just find a reason to get up in the morning. Get up earlier to do something you like? That's what I do when I know I don't want to go to work on some days. Then I'm up, so I go to work.

That probably wouldn't work for a lot of people because that would mean waking up earlier, but it works for me.

I think it would have been ironic if he ad been playing the game since it first came out out, finally got bored due to lack of new content, then uninstalled it recently. Then they announce new DLC. I think.
