My first RE experience was watching my brother and my next door neighbour play RE1 on the PS1, it was back in 96 or 97 when it first came out and I was like 8 years old, and I was scared silly by it, the sound of the dogs walking around still gives me chills...
The first one I played myself was RE2 when it first came out, man it was good, I think I'll go dust off my copy and play it now...

I was never a big fan of the Resi series. Had never bought one until Resi 5. Enjoyed it loads, but still haven't completed it due to its evil buggy checkpoints. Was at the very last part of the game (Shooting Wesker in the face with a rocket launcher) I got distracted, failed the QTE then my mother decided now was a good time for me to go to sleep and ignored my pleas for 'just one more try'. Needless to say despite saying 'checkpoint saved' it shoved me back to the start of the bossfight, then, later for no reason whatsoever, to the part on the ship when you're greeted by some of those bug-things and two fat dicks with gatlings. Pissed me right off, since EVERYONE I met online repeatedly decided that now would be a good time to not understand that if the bugs get close to them they instantly die and I had to restart the part a total of 5-7 times with one guy before getting pissed off and leaving the session.

I played Resident Evil on the PS1 when I was about 11 or 12ish and I didn't think much of it. It took Resident Evil 4 to get me interested in the series and I'm in the middle of purchasing the previous games to play them.

Resident Evil 4, 2-3 years ago. I had heard good things about it for so long, and I decided that it was worth throwing down 20 dollars for one of the best 10 games of all time. I adored it, was infuriated that a remake with all the PS2 Bonus Features would be released on the Wii while RE5 would only be released on the 360. It was Resident Evil 5 that convinced me to buy an Xbox, and I can say that it was totally worth it.

I played RE 2, while I was still young enough to get traumatised by scary music and zombies coming in through the door. It got to the point where I was afraid to go into certain areas.

I probably shouldn't have been playing it in the first place.

First time playing was about 1 year ago, when I finally bought RE4 for PS2. Wasn't scary, but good times nontheless...
First time experiencing it however, was about 3 years ago when I watched my brother play it. Didn't have the guts to play it myself then...

RE 1 on the PS1, dont remember how old i was, definitely old enough to appreciate the terrible voice acting and live action intro.
I've never played it, but was that the Resi game with the infamous "Jill Sandwich?"

I started with RE2, went through and unlocked everything, got all the secrets, loved it.
Then RE1, same story there, owned it.
RE3 I got up to the bit where Nemesis chases you out of the cafe early in the game and I got too scared to play it.

Work that one out.
No shame dood. Nemesis is one of the scariest antagonists ever to grace the RE franchise.

RE1 on the PSX when I was about 11 or 12. Must've been around 96 or 97... I remember playing in the dark and being scared something rotten.

Now the game just makes me laugh.

To be honest? RE5.

Why? I never really went for RE games. Was more of a Silent Hill fan, when it came to ZOMBEHS!

Hmm, for me it was Resident Evil 2, when I was 12 or so.. me and a friend rented it, and since I was fairly fresh to the gaming world, I sucked pretty hard at it, haha. But about a year or so later, I saw it in a shop, played it, and loved it.

My first time playing Resident Evil scarred me for life. I really have to set the stage for this story:

I'm single digits age, maybe 7 or something I don't remember when the game was released.

I'm playing with a friend at his house in the middle of the woods with all of the windows wide open.

It is something like...10pm, pitch black, and we are popping in Resident Evil 1 for the first time.

The game itself wasn't insanely scary, it was definitely something new and I was freaked out then his Mom comes running in all freaked out because the news just reported that some guy had just killed his girlfriend down the road from us and was wandering through the woods trying to get away from the police.

I still have a problem with zombie games. Whenever I play L4D I get a good shot of adrenaline in the system and am tense the whole time so even though I love the game beyond words I have never been able to force myself to get into the multiplayer experience because it's just too much anxiety.
