Assassin's Creed. And yes, it's from this year, because I'm a PC guy through and through, and Ubi released it in April.
It's got its flaws - lots of them, in fact which make it one of the most sadistic games I've ever played:
They give you a exitingly fresh scenario you can dive into - but it comes with an overdone and poorly invented meta-scenario.
The give you brilliantly designed cities to freely roam - but getting there annoys you to death.
The game is full of wonderful voice acting - but you character speaks like he comes straight out of LA (and yes, I know why, but it still sucks)*.
They did a really great job at porting the gamepad controls to keyboard and mouse - but they didn't tart it up for PC (like reworking it in a way that Altair really does what you want him to).
And the list goes on and on and on, and it really makes me want to smash my keyboard in anger. But it only shows that I care, and I do - because after all, Assassin's Creed is a deeply immersive, fun-to-play game, and I don't want to stop it.
But please, developers? Give the sequel more time.
* By the way, I need to install the German version - that flaw has been eliminated.
