Why do people post 'Use the searchbar' without actually contributing? Never got that...
Because they already contributed in a previous thread made not so long ago, which renders this thread useless.

On Topic:

For me, the game of the year is Dragon Age: Origins. I spent 60 hours playing it and enjoyed every single one.

Game of the decade for me has to be Civilization 4 and it's expansion, Beyond the Sword. If I started a session at 6 O' Clock the only thing that could stop me would be the sun rising in the morning. A very addicting game, a very interesting game and most of all a very fun game.

My Game of the Year was Blazblue: Calamity Trigger. It's the most balanced and best looking fighter that came out this year and is also my favorite fighter ever.

Game of the Decade easily goes to Persona 4. The story, characters, battle system, Persona fusion, etc. Everything about it was just fantastic.

Decade: World of Warcraft (I can lie to myself, but I know it's true.)

Year: I dunno I didn't play anything new really this year. I was broke.

GOTY: Borderlands
GOTD: That's a tough one... but I'm gonna say Spyro: Year of the Dragon because it was the only one of the original trilogy to come out this decade and it provides such a wonderful source of nostalgia. I might update this later if something better comes to mind, though.

Search Bar.
Seriously, why cannot people learn to use it!? This thread has been done to death.
You, yet again.

Reported this time.

OT:

The year? Arkham or AC2.

The decade? I'll do 3 of my favourite games (born in '94, no retro games for me):

Mafia
KotOR 1
Mass Effect
PoP: The Sands of Time
Oblivion
HL2: Episode 2

I really, REALLY, can't choose.

Well, since I have enjoyed many games over the decade I going to list my 2 favorites for each year and the Game of the Decade.

2000: Jet Grind Radio, and Pokemon Gold & Silver.
2001: Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy and Pikmin.
2002: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and Ratchet and Clank.
2003: Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga and Dark Cloud 2.
2004: Burnout 3: Takedown and Sly 2: Band of Thieves.
2005: Guitar Hero and Need for Speed: Most Wanted.
2006: Destroy All Humans 2 and Okami.
2007: The Orange Box and Super Mario Galaxy.
2008: No More Heroes and Little Big Planet.
2009: Batman: Arkham Asylum and Punch-Out!!

As for Game of the Decade I'll vote for Guitar Hero because It was the most influential music game to come out of the decade and it was always fun to pick up and play. Wind Waker gets second place however because it was one of the best Zelda games of the decade in my opinion.

I think of the decade it would probably be either Silent Hill 2 or STALKER: Shadow Of Chernobyl.

Of 2009, that's probably a trickier one, as I have faithfully hated almost every new game release due to modern games being a clusterfuck of good graphics and bloody nothing else, but I suppose it would have to be Dawn Of War II, because it was just about the only game released in 2009 that I've played that was interesting and innovative enough for me to like.

To be fair, I haven't played a fair number of games from the year that actually could be alright, such as Left 4 Dead 2, but that's because so many of the games I have given a go have been utter disappointments, and considering that I had no hopes or expectations of them to start with, that's really quite the impressive feat.

Excuse me, but MW2 doesn't deserve any more of our attention. That game is one of the worst games of the decade, and is the worst of the year.
Care to elaborate on why it's so bad?

Quite a biased opinion there, and it is certainly not one of the worst games of the year.

Nor is is it your place to imply that he should not give it attention if he enjoys it.

It's a perfectly functional shooter in single player, with a reasonable multiplayer that could do with some patches.

Decade is such a long time.

Decade: Diablo II
Half-Life
Half-Life 2
Counter-Strike

2009: Dragon Age: Origins
Very nice choices, those are all terrific games.

But this is my list
Year: Uncharted 2
Decade: Half-Life 2
Thank you sir. Half-life 2 is certainly a great game. Don't know Uncharted 2, but I'm a pure PC gamer so it's not that odd. As someone noticed: Half-Life is actually from 1998, so I got to take that back from my list.
Yes, I saw that, and considered it. Half-Life is always worth mentioning, nonetheless.

As for Uncharted 2, any person who appreciates the great story, and driving game mechanics will love Uncharted 2, and you should check it out if you get the opportunity. It definitely rivals HL2 in my own personal top 5 games. It came in second, naturally. I platinumed Uncharted 2 and loved every minute of it.

I'd say we find it so horrible because after how excellent the first was, MW2 was utterly disappointing. It's like getting a free four-course catering meal one night, then going back the next night and getting a steaming mound of shit splattered over your face. A crappy simile, perhaps, but it suffices.

I understand people feel this way, but in what way did you feel it was inferior? Story? Mechanics? Multiplayer?
