This is a Thread for those Creative People

Post your "Game" by that i mean the game you made up in your head

go wild put in as much detail as possible about your fantasy game it could be a simple new game mechanic or a whole new genre for games

Mine: i always had a respect for the "Red Dead Revolver" game on PS2 it let
you live out your little cow boy dreams..

so my game would be set in the wild wild west

it would be free roam but would have some RPG elements e.g. how good you are with gun,how good your character is with people etc etc

but it would be really realstic but fun aswell

you could kill some no good bandits and build a reputation therefore people will love you and fear you even to the point where you can be a bounty hunter

so it would Fallout 3 but during the Wild Wild West

but to make it even more uniqe when you die thats it you die all you can do now is either become a ghost and start a new campaign as a ghost doing deeds for the devil or protecting a town etc etc..

but you could also start a family therefore if you die then you take control of your kid starting a even more cool campaign

so thats my vague idea of a game

whats yours ?

I think the idea of becoming your offspring was pinched from Fable 2 (it was an idea in development but was scrapped).

This thread has already been done numerous times.

If not that then a game based on Cowboy Bepop would be Awesome.

how come no one has given their idea of a game (Although i do appreciate all the praise im getting for my ideas)

come on now i've only seen 2 good ideas on this thread

Have you heard of GUN? I can't seem to find it on Google, but it was almost exactly what you said :p

I've always imagined a number of Star Wars games. Mostly one that cover the original trilogy with good level design, co-op and all characters playable. well worked on flying levels and lightsaber combat too. Oh and there would be versus multiplayer too, kind of like the one in Goldeneye and many funky special modes.

Then there were a number of other Star Wars games as well, one where you play as R2-D2 which would be some kind of survival/puzzle game I guess. Also an open world game where you play as Boba Fett, and one where you are the commander a huge starship going around issuing orders, rushing to the escape pods and feeling the chaos among your crew when the ship is taking damage.

Älso been thinking a superhero game lately, one where you customize your character, a bit tongue in cheek and humor but still epicness.

Could probably elaborate, but truth to be told I'm quite ashamed that I don't spend my time doing anything better. In my defense though, 50 minutes to school don't exactley fly by...

An open world, free roam, non-linear spy/agent/stealth game.

GTA meets Oblivion, meets Splinter Cell.

You create your character, choose your agency. (Or none at all.)

You have stats for weapons, martial arts, stealthiness, ability to intimidate or convince people, etc etc.

You can choose what missions you want to do, (sniper, infiltration, protection duty, assassinations, etc, these could be for good or ill, your choice.)

You can purchase clothing, gear, vehicles things like that from the profits you make each mission. The ability to fake your own death and get plastic surgery to change your appearance, etc.

I'd like it to be hyper-realistic as well, meaning you need to fake travel documents to get through airports and stuff. You need to seek medical attention or get good at patching yourself up when you get hurt. While trying to be discrete as doctors are going to want to know why you're all shot up.

Storyline not entirely necessary, would be okay without one if the gameplay was solid, and provided enough fun and depth without a storyline. However, its always nice to have a purpose.

An online mode or split-screen mode, where you can co-op missions with anyone, or do counter-op missions. (i.e. You're trying to prevent an assassin player from killing a VIP target you've been hired to protect, etc.) Not an MMO, but have up to perhaps 16 players in a game.

That's my ideal game right there.

Personally Im a fable fan I would like a game with an RPG sense but not set in medieval times a game set in modern times with many multiple choices chosing the outcome of your character

Well my friend and I have had a think about producing a game. It would be a zombie apocolypse game, with you controlling a child (Aged 13 to 16, a little hazy on that detail so far) trying to find survivors, places to hide etc.

However our major idea was influenced mainly by Dead Space, in that the limbs are the weakpoints. In our game, the zombies can't simply be killed without using extraordinary amounts of ammunition. Instead, it would focus on disabling the zombies, such as shooting off the legs to hinder their movements so your character could slip past with less chance of taking damage from them.

There would also be a 'zombification' metre. We were thinking of two ways of dying, one by having your health reduced to 0, and another simply by contracting too much zombie virus. Generally health kits would be much easier to find than medicine to reduce how 'zombified' your character is. The idea would be that the zombie strain of disease is airborn, infecting most, but some humans are naturally resistant. They're not entirely immune, but unlike most infected humans, the virus is unable to reproduce in their bodies. Therefore, the only way of contracting the virus is through direct contact with the zombies.

Weapons would consist mainly of older British guns like Winchester Rifles as one example, the setting taking place in a small village modeled on our home town. Reloading would be slow and certain actions have to be taken to fill magazines and clips with loose ammunition. Health kits will never fully heal the character, the more damage he has taken the harder it is to keep health up.

As the character turns more and more into a zombie, he may emit small zombie-like moans, perhaps slight loss of total control over the character from the player, disabling certain actions. However the more zombie-like he is, the more resistant to damage and the more physically strong he gets, so other actions may become activated.

This is really as far as we've gotten so far considering both of us have a great lack of knowledge of game creation, although I am trying to learn how to get into the field.

Mine would be an RPG with heavy emphasis on story, mood and music.

The story should be very dark/mature with the personification of Death and Time as the 'main antagonists'. They play a game against each other in which the character is their subject of interest and try to persuade him to fight for individual courses. At first they only want to show each other that the other one can be defeated, but both have their own plans.

I thought about medieval or present times as a setting, maybe a combination of both would fit into the story (as 'Time' is involved).

During the game's course the player will be able to choose one of the sides or stay neutral multiple times. The choice will be reflected in altered locations, story, attacks and characters that will join your party. The individual paths should make it impossible to see everything during the first playthrough, mainly because I´m sick of games that pretend to differ in choices but have the same outcome.

Every of the three storys has a good and a bad ending with pointed out sequences in which it´s decided on which path the player ends up.

I always imagined Death's first appearance in an occupied ballroom where 'he' appears and everything stops moving. While he is talking to the main character, the food and people in the ballroom would slowly age. In that scene, Death should be a very mannered and well dressed party guest. I'd really love to see that scene rendered...

Oh, and of course we need great voice actors ^-^

How about a paratrooper game where instead of human paratroopers there are big green Orks; that way the player doesn't feel guilty about killing thousands of them. Being Orks they occasionally forget to pull the rip cord and fall to their doom.

Instead of a single cannon the player has three types of deployable defenses. Flack cannons that air bursts and can take out more than one ork. Machine gun nests for rapid fire close support but they have a limited range and overheat after too much use. Mine fields to take care of any orks that reach the ground, but there are a limited number of explosions before the mine field expires. As the game proceeds the player is awarded new deployable at steadily increasing intervals.

The Orks arrive at first in week bi-planes that only carry a few paratroopers but eventually work their way up to faster jets. Also they occasionally drop bombs that can do serious damage do what ever they land on. If the player manages to hit a bomb in mid air it explodes much like a flack burst, doing equivalent damage to surrounding orks. The Ork aircraft can be shot down and as they crash their wreckage can take out some paratroopers.

The longer the user plays the game the shorter the wait for another enemy aircraft to showing up. Eventually the screen gets so packed with paratroopers it is imposable to get a shot to aircraft height. Thus there is a special type of cannon shell called the Sabot round. It does not explode on impact but rather passes through anything it touches, killing it of course. Sabot rounds are steadily added to the player's inventory just like mines and cannons.

You're my personal hero. Or heroine, which ever you prefer.

My own idea is a survival horror game where you're exploring the house on Ash Tree Lane, having to find your way back to the living room, while managing your food, water, body temperature, and not getting lost in the ever changing house.
