Yes, what is your nitpick? You know, that little thing that doesn't really wreck anything about the overall experience, but the simple fact that it exist is constantly nibbling in the back of your head and taunting you with a high pitched voice.

I watched a review of the Metal Gear HD collection the other day and remembered something that bothered me to death. In the intro cinematic and/or opening codec call your commanding officer makes a very clear point that Snake is going on a covert mission and no sign of him being there can be allowed on the scene, I think he even mentions that it even includes bullet casings.

And the very first thing Snake does? Dumps his parachuting mask that freakin' says U.S Army (and considering his mission is in Russia during the Cold War that info might now be the best to give away), in big shiny letters. As I said above, it doesn't really ruin the big picture for me, I forget about it pretty soon but while it's happening it just tickles my irritation bone so bad!

So what's yours?

Games with guns and detachable magazines that don't let you chamber a round, then reload, i.e. M4 with 30-round magazines will always have 30, even if you chamber a round then switch to a full magazine.

Jack Marston's stupid, stupid goatee.

I cover it up, usually with a bandana. It's just so.... ew. No real reason, it just irks me.

Master Chief's cutscenes in the original Halo were *always* with the Assault Rifle, even in levels where you didn't start with one, and regardless of what weapon you were holding at the time the cutscene starts.

Fetch quests in a free-roamer that have me go back to a place I previously visited, but for some STUPID REASON the item was not there to pick up originally/the guys I needed to kill in there were not there before.

Why in the HELL would the item not be there? Someone just felt like dropping it off? Especially if it's some rare item that supposedly nobody has seen for some specified amount of a long-ass time. And am I expected to believe that the targets I'm sent to kill were NEVER at their hideout until the specific moment I was given the quest, and then they're like, "Herp-derp, let's go home."

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this before, but... in the Mass Effect 2 cutscenes everyone uses assault rifles, even characters like Mordin and Jack who don't actually carry them.

Irritates the hell out of me.

I can't see my feet in a first person shooter

If it's first person and I tilt the camera down, I should be able to see my feet, but they aren't there...

I have a similar gripe with Mass Effect 2 where characters will use weapons in cut scenes that they are not even equipped with, such seeing Commander Shepard using an assault rifle in the final mission even though he/she is not a Soldier and opted not to get an assualt rifle when asked what new weapon you wanted them to train in.

During a cut-scene when a characters hand is moving and the object they're holding goes through their hand.

Ah, yeah. Didn't think about it much in MA, but I remember being bothered when RE4 pulled the same thing with having whatshisname always use the starter pistol in cut scenes rather than the super awesome, fully upgraded Red9 that always has a space in my inventory and heart!

Graphical related. Specifically low resolutions and lack of anti aliasing generally associated with console games. Gives me eye strain. The average person probably wont notice, but I do.

Uncharted is the most recent case. Sure it still looks good, but I tend to nit pick about resolution.

perhaps it makes sense in universe, hes made himself out to be some hard-ass gun slinging wanderer

but really..under the facade he's still just a kid, a hurt and angry kid, the cloths and the misplaced facial hair dont change that

or mabye thats just me (dammit it jack why?????*sob*)

anyway..in dark souls...the charachters mouths dont move when you talk to them, ok it doent matter if you just dont look at their faces..but still

that and in any game charachters yelling out their stock phrases when there is really no need like... like "hurry up!" when your clearly npt lagging behined...OR when it break ups dialogue (jack marston have a conversation ehile riding with his dad...and screetching "WATCH IT" if you accidently tap his hoarse)

Oh, don't get me wrong, Jack is pretty much the epitome of awesome revenge-style cowboyism, and I'd buy the guy many beers at the bar in real life, but after getting him drunk, I'm shaving that ridiculous, retarded ferret off of his face.

^I second the no mouth moving in Dark Souls.

Yet the Blacksmith's mouth moves when they talk, at least Andrei's did, and his mouth didn't just flap, it made the shapes of the words. Why the hell would they do it for him and not the other NPCs? It's not like there are so many, hell I went multiple hours at one point without seeing a single damned merchant.

Another little problem I have is invisible walls in a game. Way to ruin my immersion by throwing freaking unseen forcefields right in my way, there are probably a few better ways to keep me within my boundaries.

Then there's a problem with AI in just about any shooter. I don't care how easy the game mode is set to, the AI should have at least some sense of self preservation. Hiding behind explosive barrels or running out in the open from safe cover to get shot in the face is ridiculous and reminds me I'm playing a game.

Something tells me you might want to check out the Rainbow Six: Vegas games. Although I'm guessing the previous RS games were the same way, RS: V 1 and 2 are the only games I've ever played that actually took chambered rounds into account.

OT: Guns being used by countries or people you'd never see them using in reality (the CoD games are huge offenders of this). Like how in the MW2 you see Russian solders using FN P90s (a gun made in Belgium) and TAR21's (an Israeli weapon), or how in Black Ops you see Vietnamese solders using SPAS-12s (an Italian-made shotgun that didn't even exist during the Vietnam war). Doesn't bother me enough to hate the games, but considering how much I know about these guns and where they came from and who would actually use them, it's rather annoying to see.

Ah yeah, when they don't even have the decency to put an actual wall or something in the way, but literally just stop you from walking.

Non-directional audio. When I play something, I want the thing to my left sounding like its to my left. I will make exception for old games, but when I play something new and the thing to my left sounds like its everywhere, or in a different direction, I start to get mad. I rely on audio as much (sometimes more) than video games, so messing up audio leaves me shorthanded.
Another thing that sometimes irritates me is when the game gives you choices for comments, and none of them would be close to what you would really say. this happens in bethesda games all the time for me (I still love their games, though): I talk to one guy, and my options are "Yeah, sure", "What's in it for me?", and "Where do I go?" I understand they cant have every statement, but I mean, where's the "bite me" option? Or at least a "Maybe later." No, I HAVE TO accept the mission, whether I like it or not in an "Open" game. Again, I don't expect every option to exist, but some basic ones like the "screw off" option should be available.
