-Play normal unless it's a game/series I'm familiar/good with (see- Halo, gears, CoD, AssCreed, ME, half-life, fallout, etc..) in which case I go hard (or the equivalent).
-If I play a game for a few hours and I have no fun, I feel no obligation to "give it a chance" and I will stop playing it and trade it in. I don't care if it "gets good" a few more hours in, why should I continue to play something that isn't fun to me when there are plenty of games I could be playing that ARE?
- Don't bother with collectibles that have no impact on actual gameplay, are just there for "100%" crap, or are just a pain in the ass to find. Finding random feathers and flags isn't why I play a game, I play it for the gameplay, story and possible shenanigans, not to fuck around finding things I really don't care about.
- Moral choices? I always go with what I would do in the situation, which ends up being a more "chaotic good" kinda character.
that's about it. though these can all really just be put under the umbrella of "have fun!", for myself atleast.
EDIT- Oh and "guides" and that sorta thing...I dunno, I've really never used them...felt they kinda defeat the purpose of the damn game in the first place, but if a friend wants to give me advice about certain sections like "hey, for the next level, your gonna need a sniper rifle", that's okay as it really doesn't spoil anything.
