Time Crisis 2. Managed to beat the game with one credit, no life lost. The chaps were watching, and a couple of people were looking on. Quite a nice feeling.

One day I will never forget is when I completed Metal Slug X with only 3 coins, when I usually use like a million coins or more.

I could beat Fatal Fury and a lot of other SNK/Neo Geo games blindfolded basically.
Exploiting the AI was easy enough for a 12-year old (me) to beat.

I could singlehandedly beat the entire game using one measly quarter - and I did, repeatedly.

The day I found Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo at a college near me and beat every college kid who tried to challenge me in it. Think I went on a 20 streak before they had to go back class. My most favorite arcade game ever.

greatest arcade moment... either getting really far on house of dead using both pistols at once, or when i was doing rather good on Silent Scope, killing the baddies hella fast. dual wielding arcade pistols really tire out my arms and i was going for a good amount of time before i finally died while trying to revive one of my pistols. (multitasking is really bad on arcade games)

DDR. Most definitely DDR.

I was exhausted. Like, completely, could hardly stand up. From Parkour training, not DDR, that would be sad. *coughs*

But when I get to that point I get really nihilistic, and throw my credits around. So I tried Paranoia -Respect- for my third stage, failed at the end, and nearly fell over. But just trying the song had gathered a crowd, and I'd decided I was going to pass that song. And so I did, first stage. And then failed the next one (Paranoia Survivor Max Heavy, another ten footer) And so I staggered off, to applause. Woo.

The arcades up here were desolate, muggy, dim lit rooms which few would willingly enter. Crowds didn't exist, and the machines barely ran right. Gaming in the arcade was a private affair, just you and the game.

My best moments were Metal Slug (can't remember which) and Area 51, hell, me, my mom and dad would play Area 51 like there was no tomorrow.

Of course, things had to change, one day I walked into the linking section between the commissary and PX...and the arcade was gone...replaced by a damn phone company, it went under roughly two weeks. No business has managed to stay open in that spot since.

Another one I can think of (this wasn't by me, I was part of the crowd). A friend of mine is a Time Crisis addict. This was a well-known fact within our group, so we decided to test him out. We gave him a single credit for one game.

He went for the solo mode. Turns out the guy was a GOD. Managed to beat the whole thing without getting hit even once. The funny thing is that since he played solo (leaving the other machine beside it playable), other people played on the machine beside him, only to lose 5 minutes later. They then became part of the crowd. In the end, he said that that wasn't even a good game because he only had 50% accuracy. His best game was around 70% (or so he said).

Ok, my greatest moment in the arcades was when I was probably about 6 or 7. The Mortal Kombat 3 system was "broken." In reality it was on free play, it didn't accept tokens and it was virtually a blessing of God. Well, to say the least, it was popular in that arcade, and EVERYONE was around it. A six year old didn't stand much chance of getting through the crowds.

I kept asking if they would let me challenge them, but all of them (they seemed like 18 year olds, but I was little. In retrospect they were probably 14 or 15) said no, until the idea of making a little kid cry by beating him at a video game arouse. Needless to say, they challenged me, and I wouldn't be typing this if I had cried.

Yeah, I messed those kids up. I played as Scorpion, and they just didn't see it coming.

That was my greatest moment in the arcades.
Scorpion isn't in Mortal Kombat 3.

Finishing House of the Dead 2 in 2 continues, and I definitely didn't put immature words as my ranking name. :p

I honestly don't play in arcades much, not the right generation.

When I do with friends, I'm always the last one standing. This usually leads to "NERD!" calls rather than praise.

Well, I remember back in 94 Super Street Fighter had just come out and there was this kid just oblitorating everyone as Ken; I'm usually an Akuma or Ryu guy so I decided to go at it as Ryu (Akuma was just introduced for the first time in that game), the problem is I got distracted by a friend and selected Sagat by mistake (I'm good with Sagat, but on consoles, not arcades). Damn my though was "this kid is gonna make a fool out of me" so I decided to concentrate and FOCUS, since Sagat's special moves are a lot like Ruy's I thought "oh well, at least I'll go down with a fight". Not only did I ended up mopping the floor with him, I won like 10 straight matches as Sagat, including a rematch with the kid. That was the moment that convinced me that Sagat is my man.

I didn't have a crowd around me, but my best arcade feat is when I beat Street Fighter 2 using only one dollar in quarters. The only time that I did that, usually I would spend at least three to four dollars beating it.

Scorpion isn't in Mortal Kombat 3.
It was Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. He was added into that one because he is Ed Boon's favorite character. I should probably edit my first quote.

yeah I know, It's just irritating when people don't differentiate between the two.
