Reading manga counts probably counts as well, if only because I get accused of reading Japanese porn if someone sees me with it at school. :\

The anime's Shonen. The manga's shoujo. The manga removes the 'mechs and focuses more upon an underground movement and Lelouche leading that group of rebels rather than actually leading a full force military. Also, how he gets out of his first trouble spot in the manga is far more awesome than how he does in the first episode in the anime.
