Console war ends. Wii the victor (just kidding). Release dates same for every country and NEVER delayed. Match-making is an OPTION. Games only have two censor ratings: PARENTS LOOK AT WHAT YOUR CHILDREN ARE PLAYING and acceptable (crap game might be a third). When a host leaves a game someone becomes the new host (I hate having to find a new game because the host rage quits).

(never gonna happen) *sigh*

If every game was like Ratchet & Clank or Serious Sam - brightly colored, full of explosions, and not afraid of, you know, BEING A VIDEO GAME.

Activision with it's Modern Warfare 2 could also go die in a fire along with Rockstar Games, fanboys could be more level-headed, digital distribution should be put in it's place (it's not the one and only way of buying games, just a nifty alternative), there could have been some people in media and gonverments enhancing public opinion on games... but now i'm just dreaming.

Kotor 3 would be out
Code geass lost colors would show its face in the stands
FF8 would have gotten its ps2 remake (look it up)
people would shut up about the ff7 remake, or ff7 in general
sly and jak 4 would be out
gaming comps. would give a crap and patch things that needed to be patched

and to top it all off, all of this would be in holodecks

could you really imagin that? (but on a bad note, you know a lot of idiots would play with the saftys off and die a cocky death.

My Australian friends get there 18+ rating
No game stigmas
no more fanboys and idiots on online gaming boards
People are civil in game
A game that was quiet literally an open world with no boundaries
release dates that don't meander around

The world where games are reduced to five dollars each and it wouldn't be so difficult to get people to cooperate in an online match
Also to get rid of all the douchebags in gaming communities

They released that last year didn't they?

In the perfect gaming world the real Fallout 3 and Baldur's Gate 3 would have been released.

Valve would stop ignoring their fanbase and would continue work on their only franchise worth a damn, the Half-Life series, or at least a new Portal game; instead of making zombie multiplayer games that I find frightfully mediocre.
It's like you crawled into my mind and expressed my feelings on my behalf...

I thought I was alone in my utter apathy towards L4D, I found both of them to be fun for a bit but ultimately shallow and dull.

Also whoever worked on ME2 gets shot in the face.[footnote]Except for the guy who made Mirandas ass. He deserves a nobel peace prize for his outstanding work.[/footnote][footnote]Double shooting for the twat who gave her a australian accent though. Oh and shoot his family too. Bet they are also gingers.[/footnote]
I totally agree with the footnotes:D But seriously, would you kill the voice impersonator actress as well?

My ideal gaming world would be like this:
1. All idiots that are pissed by too much sexuality in video games shut up and realize that pr0n is available online just a few clicks away, so... it's kind of hypocritical to complain about it in the games...
2. No one blames the other for playing this or that game UNLESS they try the game by themselves and then formulate a conclusion about it.
3. Games centered on a very good story; shooting aliens slash zombies slash mutants slash demons gets EXTREMELY boring : after all, the only differences between those types of games and Space Invaders are the graphics and the AI. That's all there is to it.
4. Gaming environments like the one in the movie "Gamer". Should be easier to create than a full-fledged holodeck. And, all the characters that you play MUST look like you, as much as possible.

I have to admit I was biased to begin with as I don't enjoy multiplayer in general with the exception of a VERY select few games, so the L4D games would have had to do something pretty fucking great to appeal to me in the first place. Still, I bought L4D simply because it's a Valve game, and I did try to like it, but even judging the game on it's on merits I just don't understand what the appeal is supposed to be. It does absolutely nothing special at all, in my opinion, yeah it's a Co-op game which their aren't many of these days, but the gameplay itself is completely standard and its 4 levels over and over again with no story. I wouldn't have believed it was made by Valve if I hadn't known before playing it.

I played each campaign once online, took me about 3 hours, didn't have much fun past the initial moments gunning down hordes of zombies. It got repetitive so quickly and I had no desire to play any of the campaigns again once I'd done.

Haven't played L4D2 but I heard its basically more of the same.

I hear you.

I was expecting great things from Valve as per usual, but the small linear levels, lack of content and variety and dated looking engine left me a bit underwhelmed.
