Your insane next-gen console wish?

To see Mega Man X get the Mega Man 9 treatment.

By that I mean I want to see a Mega Man X9 in 16-bit like the old SNES games. Sadly that will never happen because Capcom seems to hate Mega Man now, and I wouldn't trust them without Keiji Inafune on the project. Not to mention they would probably charge you real world money to unlock all of X's armor pieces like that horrendous Mega Man X mobile remake.

Sadly the only hope I have for an old school Mega Man X game would be this fan game that's been in development for a few years now.

And the memory space of a PC. Steam opened my eyes to digitial distribution, and the Steambox is gonna press that issue for consoles Im sure.

Stop it with the gimmicks. We had the Wii, we thought it was going to be great, it wasn't, we're over that stuff.

Backwards compatibility, all the way back.

But no backwards compat plus new gimmicky controls means I have to keep the old ones hooked and there's already plenty of ridiculous sensors/camera/bars around the TV.

And what's wrong with DLC? I've gotten more characters in fighting games and I've downloaded whole games from the online store, games that are hard to find outside of it. And they aren't on discs that can scratch.

I remember the old days when you beat a game. You unlock the characters.
I remember the old days that cool weapons/guns/etc we're unlockables.
I remember when a gaming company would happily put out free extra content with updates/patches to keep the game going.

Not paying 2.99$ for each character.

DLC is... some what a good concept but it's just executed so wrongly that people hate it. Things like on disk dlc, first day dlc.

I think it was Yahtzee who called that Capcom were going to release Dante with white hair in DMC5 for DLC. Really..? REALLY?
A game KNOWN for unlockable skins with each play through and they pull that crap? Yeah. Fuck DLC.

Is it next-gen? No.
Is it practical? Probably not.
Would it be awesome to have the ultimate all-in-one retro console? Absolutely.

Here's a really 'crazy' suggestion:

How about we forget about having next gen consoles all together unless we come across something truly revolutionary and different on the scale of the Oculus Rift that would merit a next gen console.

I've seen the graphics/gameplay for Watch Dogs (the only game besides Knack that I was considering getting for the PS4) for the PS4 and honestly, I think I'm going to pick this game up for the PS3 because I can bearly see a slight change in graphics that others will probably not be able to tell.

I mean, the WiiU is great because it's the first Nintendo console to have HD 1080p graphics, as well as a table for a controller that let's you play console games on it and changes the way to play and interact with games.

I honestly wouldn't mind it being another 5 years with PS3, Xbox 360, and WiiU.

Anyone else agrees?

Massive battles, like 300 people or more on a single map at the same time. MAG did that, but you rarely ever "felt" like you had 256 people fighting. I don't care if the graphics are current-gen, I'd rather have fuck-huge battles like LOTR instead of small skirmishes. Better graphics just aren't going to wow me next-gen, I want things to be BIGGER.

Oh, and make bodies stay there for gods sake. After I've mown down hundreds of people I don't like seeing their bodies disappear one-by-one.

Those won't happen because from everything I've seen so far of this upcoming generation we're heading for this-gen's games but shinier.

Cross-platform multiplayer. Which would mean more people to play with and more variety in servers. And more variety in ways to play.

For example, say you want to play Battlefield or CoD, and you just want to play a casual game or two on the couch tonight. Then you fire up your PlayStation, and play with all your stats and unlocks from your global account on your favorite PC server. Then, the next night, you've got a couple of extra hours to spend, so you sit down at your desk and play with your clan on the PC. And then, the next night, you go to your friends house, and you two start playing on his XBOX against your guys' buddies from college on their Playstation.

Would that be something you're interested in?

PS3 is already region free with its games, it makes sense that PS4 will follow suit. So that's one wish practically confirmed atleast.

I meant I wanted all consoles to do that, not just the PS4. I'm well aware of the PS3 being region free which should mean the PS4 would be too. However, I'd like to see that happen to every next-gen console, not just one.

Ah fair enough, well that will only happen if you vote with your wallet and let them know why they've lost the sales. I doubt it'd be possible to get the numbers but either way just another bonus point for Sony IMO.

yes, I actually get connected with people in France and I live near Liverpool in the UK ... Liverpool is near Ireland, for those who aren't so knowledgeable about the UK cities.

As for the multimedia aspect, if I wanted to watch youtube I would go on my computer or phone. If I wanted netflix ... I would never want nextflix, hulu or any other similar service. If I wanted to upload pics, music or video it certainly wouldn't be to my console.

I also don't want a touch screen on my PS4 with a huge blue bar on it ... I'd rather have the battery life.

I quite like certain aspects of the multi media part. I like you can download games (this needs improving though) and I like that you can rent a movie or subscribe to something like Netflix.
all the twitter and facebooks stuff I'm not interested in personaly and the Internet explorer is really clunky (you really need a keyboard).

but mostly I'd say the online games library needs improving. (not sure what ps3 is like but Xbox sounds way behind pc downloads)

I know, I was making it perfectly clear where it was. People might not know where wales is but Ireland is fucking obvious, it's the island next to the pig riding witch.

In case you didn't get my "pig riding witch", great Britain looks like a witch riding a pig. Wales is the face of the pig, Cornwall is the pigs front foot, Scotland is the witches hat, London is pigs bum ... to me it's a "cannot be unseen" thing.
