EDIT: I'm only keeping the below post there to clear up any confusion as to the small conversation had afterwards, but basically, pay more attention to this part:
I've been having a few driver problems lately, and I don't think there's been any corruption to them, as it was primarily my mousepad and LAN connection drivers. I've gotten these cleared up, but I'm wondering if anyone else had these problems with a laptop, because I know little about computers. I don't know if there are supposed to be indications for a driver update, or if computers have these problems.
But still, if anyone has any experiences, I guess we can talk, if only for this thread to not be completely worthless.
Here's the questions I asked a minute ago.
(I'm wondering if this is something you get the banhammer for... *sigh* It'll be worth it.
I have this Acer Aspire One (my dilemma is in the fact I don't know if it's Notebook or Netbook). I've had it since last Christmas, and it was working fine until a few months back. The mouse had completely stopped responding. I took it to the good people at Staples Tech support and the next day they said that they just had to download a new driver off the Acer website, or something like that. And that problem was, and is fixed. However...
Now my problem is my internet wouldn't connect, or at least, via LAN. I'm using wireless here at the cafe I work at. I called Eastlink, and after a short test of some things, the man said I needed to download an LAN driver off the Acer website. Seems simple enough.
I went to acer.com, I looked through the options, but I couldn't for the life of me find the product number. I tried Notebook > Aspire > and then none of the models resembled my laptop. And I couldn't find any of the numbers on any part of my laptop. I tried Netbook > Aspire One > again, nothing.
What I'm asking is two things. One, where can I find my product number? (On the bottom it'll say things like Atheros AR5BXB63 on one sticker, and Aspire One Series, [Chinese/Japanese symbols] ZG5). And two, has anyone else that may have an Acer or other notebook/netbook had these update-the-driver problems?
Apologies for any lack of corresponding with forum rules.)
