Yeah, I think that blows as well. John Lennon = most overrated songwriter ever. "Lucy..." is probably one of his better efforts.

But it would have to go to Lennon's "Imagine". Mawkish, simplistic view of the world perfectly fitting Lennon's self-righteous attitude and his overwhelming self-pitying tendencies. Just pure puke. I'll get flamed for saying it, but I don't give a shit.

I'd have to say most any modern music anymore, but for me, I find Katy Perry especially grinding. The worst part about it (for me, anyways) is my local radio station, without fail, plays Hot n Cold every day, 12:34 sharp, right at a time when I have little to no control over the radio station

I could list hundreds of songs i do not like by bands i fdont like but instead i am going to give the worst lyrics in a good song.

Hurt by NIne Inch Nails: "I hurt myself today to see if i could feel the pain" sure they are an angsty band but this is just too much angst and i cannot defend this lyric against the ignorant people who would call NIN emo.

That particular phrase is very similar to one in a Johnny Cash song. Does it say anything about an "empire of dirt?"
