Bayonetta has a godawful soundtrack
I loved the Bayonetta soundtrack, it was one of the few things that kept me playing; really I just love any variation of 'Fly Me to the Moon'. I absolutely wouldn't call it smooth jazz though, it's more like bad lounge music on speed.

I must say, I find it kind of odd that you hate anything with a high pitch, is there any particular reason?

OT: The worst crime a soundtrack can commit, for me, is to be utterly unremarkable. I don't ever recall a soundtrack I found particularly grating, but there are plenty that I just found boring and uninspired. In that case I usually just mute the music and listen to a podcast while I play, instead.
I can think of two reasons
1) i have sensitive ears, there is a door in my school that does a fucking horrible noise whenever someone opens it, but it seems i am the only person that is deeply bothered by it, i am constantly looking at that door to cover my ears if anyone is about to open it
2)I hate most music in general
It would be quicker to name music i like than music i don't like

Anyhow, I knew that the Shadows of the Empire project really branched across media, but I didn't know about the soundtrack. You learn something new every day!
Why oh why didn't they play whole damn songs in the game?
It probably had to do with the space limitations of the Nintendo 64 cartridges, they only had 16MB of capacity, not a whole lot of room for tons of CD quality audio, even if it was compressed.

Well, I can't help with the second one --horses for courses, after all-- but might I suggest some WD40 for the hinges of that troublesome door?

oh man I just remembered the Street Fighter 1 ost for Sagat's stage...
Obviously they were trying for thai music but they missed by a shit ton.

No one better post that muay thai music isn't much better! Haha.
