On one morning you wake up and instead of being in your cozy bed, you're in some sort of capsule. You get out, look around, it seems like some sort of lab, but it's abandoned. You find a room that looks like an office.Weirdly, everything looks to be in their normal place, but...destroyed, a whiteboard absolutely smashed, a broken chair, an empty closet without doors. There's a big desk in front of you.Out of curiosity you search its drawers and find some money, that you don't recognize and notes about a machine that looks like the capsule in which you awakened. From the drawings you can tell that it's some sort of dream machine that connects to your brain. You're reminded of the Matrix or holodecks, but you can't believe it, you start running aimlessly through the building until you reach this conspicuous door, a ray of light shines from a hole in it.
You slowly approach it, and gently push it.The creaking hurts your ears.As it opens you step outside and see a huge city, giant skyscrapers, and a lot of trees. It looks beautiful, you're in awe.But soon you remember all those sci-fi stories about dystopian futures you read...they all seemed beautiful from the outside. You continue your search through the building and find some clothes. They look weird but you assume that this is what people wear now.
As you keep wandering, you end up in the capsule room again and suddenly remember, what about your family? your wife? your friends? were they all really just a figment of your imagination?but how?You held them in your arms, you spent so many wonderful moments with them.Do all of those not matter? Are your feelings for them any less meaningful because they don't exist in this reality? What should you do?You sit with your head in your hands pondering. Is the opportunity to live a normal...real life worth the sacrifice of losing those that you love? Will this life be any better?Does it even matter if it's real or not?The questions overwhelm you, your confused, but you must make a decision.
So I ask you escapists, what would you do if that happened to you?Would you embrace reality, or indulge in the ultimate escapism?
P.S. The story is just to better explain the situation, so that people understand where I'm coming from. And also I wasn't sure where to put the thread so I went with Off-Topic.

You wake up one day in a weird abandoned lab and find out that your whole life wasn't real. You can go to an interesting looking, but potentially dangerous city, or go back to sleep. What do you do?
