To me Its Arma 3 and Metro last light. Also Excited for Dishonored but its not pure FPS.

Far cry 3 also looks interesting. and for Crysis 3. I'll wait and see. Crysis 1 is one of my fav FPS ever but 2 was Dumb down and suffer from consolisation so i am worried about crysis 3

Bioshock Infinite.

Looks to be head and shoulders above anything else coming out soon.

...

Regarding the OP, I never quite got why some people despised Crysis 2 so much compared to its predecessor. The first game had bad level design, terrible balance (I spent most of the game just sprinting/cloaking past everything), meh combat and a dumb and forgettable story. Apparently the graphics were nice, but the aesthetics were so dull I barely noticed.

Even over Metro?

To me it looks on rail console shooter. plus it feel like JRPG type emotional melodrama...

Metro: Last Light is definitely up there.. I played the first one really just as a game that I wanted to push my PC's hardware, but then I found that there was actually great gameplay underneath it all. So I'm very excited to see what the sequel brings (especially since they're separating from the Dmitry Glukhovsky novels), so hopefully they can maintain that quality across the board now that they're also free to go in whatever direction they want.

Also Borderlands 2, four player co-op with tons of loot, tons of enemies to kill, the games looks and sounds better... and this time they aren't doing a shoddy PC port, so thats a bonus. Can't wait for this one either, it's going to eat up countless hours of my life, I can feel it.

Metro: Last Light - So glad this is coming out for PS3.

Bioshock: Infinite - Always up for more Bioshock.

Borderlands 2 - *Creams pants*

Far Cry 3 - Looks suitably bizarre.

Black Ops II - Because Treyarch's Call of Duty games are the only ones worth playing.

Planetside 2 - You know, whenever I actually get around to building a gaming rig.

Crysis 3 - So glad they're sticking with the city setting. Fucking hated Crysis 1.

Dead Island: Riptide - Would this count as an FPS? Probably not.

Metro Last Last by quite a margin. The first one was a flawed classic and rarely have I been as sucked into a game's atmosphere and story.

Absolutely over Metro.

Don't get me wrong, I actually liked Metro 2033. It had some cool atmospheric moments and a well realised setting, but the combat was unremarkable with a bit too much run-backwards-while-shooting-at-melee-based-enemy. The story felt like nonsense (what the hell are Nazis doing in post-apocalyptic Moscow?) and the characters were all so dull I couldn't even tell them apart.

What little has been shown of the sequel hasn't been any better.

Compare that with an FPS set in a floating steampunk-ish city inhabited by mustachio'd robots, ghostly singers and a flying guardian construct, all in the midst of a civil war where I can attack my enemies with a swarm of crows. Yeah... no competition at all.

Granted, the story does have some potential for "JRPG type emotional melodrama", but that remains to be seen.

...

PS. Your apparent snobbery regarding consoles is rather unbecoming. You do realise that both Metro games are on consoles as well, right? They're as much console shooters as anything else.

Metro: Last Light, Borderlands and Bioshock: Infinite, but by a far margin the Metro, I loved the first and I'm almost certain I'll love the second time around as well.

[sub]Also Half-life 2: Episode 3/Half-life 3, whenever that lands.[/sub]

Still don't see what's so great about Metro. Metro 2033 did nothing for me. Well, it did give me a headache because of the godawful FOV.

I'm looking forward to Far Cry 3 and Borderlands 2.

Halo 4! Well I'm looking forward to it anyway. I just like the look of all the changes. But Dishonored does look very intriguing.

Borderlands 2 looks absolutely badass, and I finally got a good computer to play it on :D

And I am excited for crysis III, but like you said, 2 was dumbed down and boring. I loved how varied crysis 1 was, and how it was basically a stealth game, at least on harder difficulties. The enemies could take a ton of shots, and you couldn't.

In crysis 2 however, you get this

Sorry, video embedding is the only thing I can never remember how to do on this site :(
But that's someone in crysis 2 doing the final level, without running, cloaking, or firing a shot. He just walks and tanks the damage.

Then he tries in crysis 1, on the very first level, with a single basic soldier shooting him

:/
Well that got a bit offtopic.

Borderlands 2 & Metro: Last Light. Borderland's co-ops just the best and they both look awesome.

"Aliens: Colonial Marines" because I'm an obsessive Aliens fanboy. Runner up would be "Borderlands 2."

I'm very much looking forward to playing the Co-Op in both.

I am also anxiously awaiting the release of ArmA III. I'm still a little nervous about the near-future setting, but it's BIS. They'll pull it off. I'm confident in their ability to deliver a realistic mil-sim without CoD style crap tossed in.

I'm also curious about Metro: Last Light. I never played Metro 2033, and I am planning on picking it up. I LOVED S.T.A.L.K.E.R., so I figured I would give it a try.

Medal of Honor Warfighter looks interesting too. I prefer that franchise over Call of Duty since 1.) Medal of Honor started it all, and 2.) They have a slightly larger lean towards realism.

I wish I could get excited for Crysis 3. Crysis 2 is a mess. It's boring, hopelessly 'consolized,' and it just seems... weak compared to Crysis.

X-Com.

Why? Its not brown, Halo, or Bioshock, and that, in my book? Is a winner. Plus its got a fairly unique little old world setting, and I never played the old xcom games so I have no loyalty to them.
