Twisted Metal. I've had a craving for a new car combat game for AGES.

Gotham City Imposters, Starhawk, Serious Sam 3, and Saints Row: The Third are also loved.

While I am looking forward to L.A Noire's PC release, and Skyrim is looking surprisingly appealing in spite of my deep-seated contempt for Oblivion...there is but one game released this year which I am actively looking forward to at the moment.

It was Portal 2, but now that I've played it (and was happy to see it live up to the hype) my most anticipated game is Arkham City. However, I'm also very excited about Catherine and cautiously optimistic about the new Silent Hill.

Well, Witcher 2 came out and was about 90% of what I'd hoped it would be, so now it's all Deus Ex 3. Seriously looking forward to complex/ambiguous characters, complex levels, deep gameplay, and finding some giant robot to help me re-enact the lobby scene from Ghost in the Shell.

Human Revolution, Skyrim, TOR, and Arkham City. I think HR will be a bit of a culture-shock for some.

Bioshock is probably the runner up.
Not out until 2012.

I have answered this question many times before, and I will answer it again...

Skyrim. The whole game looks fantastic from what has been released, and I can't wait until November 11th! The next game on the list for me would be Saints Row The Third, after that gameplay was released. It just looks like a really fun game to play in general.

The only problem with all this is that all the games that I plan to get all come out within the time space of a month, so I will have a very busy end of year.

Well except for the obvious, Battlefield 3 and Skyrim. I'm very much looking forward to Rage
From the makers of Wolfenstein, Quake and Doom, gameplay elements of Borderlands and a setting like Fallout. Very good graphics. I think this game is gonna kick some serious but.

I'm really looking forward to Skyward Sword.

And probably Dead Island takes a second. A pretty far-behind second, but considering how high my Want Scale has to go to even fit Sword on there, that's still pretty high.

We're officially halfway through the year and we've certainly had our suburb games (Dead Space 2, BulletStorm, Dragon Age 2) and we've also had our disappointing games (Duke Nukem Forever and Brink, to name a couple) but we're not done yet, not by a long shot.

My money is going to be on Gears 3 of course, which if the MP Beta was anything to judge by, will turn out to be one of the most legendary 360 exclusives ever! But let's not forget about Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Battlefield 3, Batman Arkham City and Saints Row the Third. So many great contenders for GotY, it will be a tough decision indeed.

So which of this year's great titles are you pledging your soul to?

EDIT: I'm probably going to get just as much flak for counting DA2 among this year's great titles as I am for not mentioning Skyrim.
Why isn't skyrim on this list. It's the hands-down winner. It's the only game I'm buying this year, and probably the only one I'll even play(of this year's releases) and in all likelyhood it will be the last game I ever play. If it doesn't win GoTY, I will have officially lost all faith in gaming.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is early Christmas for me!

I will also be getting my brain-shut-off whiz bang fun fix next week with Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon.

Dark Souls! (It's pretty much a sequel to Demon's Souls even though it has a different title and story)

Lookin' forward to getting killed a million times while exploring a huge world map.

Uncharted 3.

I'll be shocked if it doesn't snag them all. Although given the PS3 exclusive hate from some sites, maybe not. Dark Souls is probably the one i'm most interested in.

Sonic Generations. I have high hopes for this game. Also, Arkham City. I'm finally playing through Asylum and City looks amazing.
Prepare to be disappointed in Sonic Generations, The demo was very disappointing. Save your money for Arkham City.

Skyrim would be my first guess for GOTY. But having seen the gameplay trailer for Batman: Arkham City, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a hot contender. And GOW3, while not being my type of game, is still hotly anticipated.

All in all, I think that trying to guess the GOTY while some of the biggest games aren't out yet is kinda pointless. Instead, lets just be thankful that 2011 is looking like it's going to be a KICK-ASS year for gaming!
