The big 3 on my list are:

Dissidia Duodecim- The first game was an amazing fighter and an awesome piece of fan service. It's come back for round two with more stages, characters, improved story mode, more content, and a crap ton of new tweaks and battle mechanics.

DO WANT!!!
and it has Kain!

*looks at lack of psp* buh.

For me, Skyrim was a nice announcement, but I'd say most anticipated currently is The Last Guardian.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. And I play on the PC. Let's say I wasn't entirely happy of the direction MW2 took.

Although when the next part of the Half-Life saga announces then that will easily take the spot of most wanted and hopefully Valve won't turn their backs to the PC crowd and release a half-ass product which sells solely on the premise of its name.

for me it would have to be all of the following.

tes v because it's tes thats all i need to know.

two worlds 2 because i have played it on pc and i can't wait to hack up dragons into pieces with my friends on xbl

dragon age 2 because bioware never fails to deliver games that make me seriously consider getting a divorce just so i can have some more free time to play them

mass effect 3 read above for reason

1. Zelda: Skyward Sword
2. Portal 2
3. Paper Mario 3DS
4. The Last Guardian

EDIT: Didn't read the original post. I thought you meant THIS YEAR.
In that case,
1. Banjo-Tooie: Lived up to expectations
2. Sonic Heroes: Miserable, miserable, fail.
3. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess: It was decent. Not quite to my expectations though.

Xenosaga was the game I most anticipated after Xenogears. I had very high expectations, and it managed to live up to them.

Now I'm waiting on Xenoblade, which still doesn't have a North American release date, even though it's been out in Japan for six months.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII, mainly because it's more of a Final Fantasy game than Final Fantasy XIII. Brink gets special points for getting me interested despite not caring for anything published by Bethesda. And The Last Guardian interests me as well, despite being underwhelmed by SotC.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution (negating the fact that the future is apparently made out of gold and bloom lighting) and Duke Nukem: Forever.

Gonna be a good year, lads.

Kingdom Hearts II was probably my most anticipated. I was rewarded by having a good game improved in nearly every way.
Don't think I've anticipated anything so much and probably won't until Kingdom Hearts III's announced, if it ever is.
[sub]Although I do want me some Uncharted 3...[/sub]

Never really anticipated a game that much... There's always another game to play that's already out and might be just as good
[sub]although I nearly fainted when I got Halo 3... wasn't let down either :3[/sub]

Mass Effect 3 and Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
If I had to pick one, it'd be Skyrim. I love Mass Effect and almost everything it does, but the 150 hours spent in each game can't compare to the sheer amount of time I've spent with Morrowind and Oblivion.

Mass Effect 3.

How could it not be? It's the epic finale of the trilogy of Commander Shepard and his battle against the Reapers. I can't wait to see what happens.

Destroy All Humans: Path of the Furon... well, until Pandemic Studios was shutdown for good in 2009... thanks EA. :(

This franchise had the best one-liners & funniest script ever written for games!

Probably Resident Evil 4 because for one, it looked awesome, but also it gave me a chance to flaunt the fact that the Gamecube did get good exclusives...until PS2 ruined that...
