You ever go into the option menu hoping they had an option to do a particular thing? Well, I think we've all had an experience like that.

Personally, my most wished for option is from Zach and Wiki. After the tutorial level, I wanted a "Mute Sidekick" option so badly. It's like they took the sound of a panda getting skinned alive and turned the pitch waaaay up.

Splicers of Bioshock: Yes, we know that you know that Jesus loves you because the Bible is currently speaking louder than the Voices. Now, could you stop singing about it?

Turn off 'realistic sound' in video-games, so i don't have to turn my character around like some spastic radio tuner just to here what a character 2 meters in front of me is saying.

Anything more than "Resume" and "Quit." I still want "Quicksave" to be in every game. We don't always have time to get to a save point.

Yeah, you have choose between looking around at the person's room and the environment or hearing what they have to say. I've had moments of, "wait, what was that important objective you just metioned? You know, the one that the next mission revolves around and for some reason you won't let me display on the screen."

Same. I hate having to reach check points.

Also a good brightening is always helpful because of sometimes how dim my TV is. I like the basic slide bar to make the picture darker or lighter or in-between.

i wouldnt so much mind the checkpoints if there was an option to choose which checkpoint you can start out. 99% of the time people will choose the last checkpoint, but has the game ever saved a checkpoint on you half a second before a rocket laucher spews you insides everywhere? then everytime you spawn you die, in those cases, just being able to go back one checkpoint would be nice, instead of starting back at the very start of the level

Going along with this idea, perhaps a sort of Mission replay feature.

Think Prince of Persia (not the new one coming out) meets Halo 3 theatre. Yes we all hate saving our games just before some untimely end is thrown upon our hero, but if the last check point was an hour or so behind us say for instance before a big boss battle, would it not be more convenient to watch a replay of the mission so far, and pick a place to start from our own progress? Fantastic I know but never going to happen I'm sure

This. Most of the time the option is somewhere, but it's irritating as hell when there are no subtitles whatsoever. I'm not deaf at all, I just find it easier to read than listen. It also cures:

What the hell is up with this, anyway? People don't listen with their eyes. Humans have ears. What kind of freakish biology do videogame characters have that effectively mutes anybody behind them?

I hate games that don't have separate volumes for music, SFX, etc... 'cause those are usually the games where the characters always whisper below the blaring music >.<

Yeah, i like subtitles. I'm not deaf, but very close to it i imagine. Plus, it helps when there's a character you can't understand a damn word he's saying like Little Jacob.

Little Jacob! GTA4 has some thick accents, but Little Jacob takes the cake. Even Niko can barely understand him. I just wait for him to stop talking and the objective marker to pop up so I can get moving. There's a reason I never hang out with the guy.

Definitely subtitles, but it's been mentioned. I need more buttons to reduce video in WoW. I lag so bad at MINIMUM settings.

Invert Y axis. If a game doesn't have it, I don't play it.
YES! I always invert the y-axis for gaming, and if I don't, I can't aim for shit. So, yes, gives us the opportunity to invert the y-axis, for the love of God!
