On the sexism note:Lullabye said:The main character not getting laid.
This is the reason I actually like School Days.....
Also, the posing. Just the sheer amount of posing in every anime pisses me off. Especially the whole "we all look of into the sky and hope for a brighter tomorrow" bullshit after every new bad guy is defeated.
EDIT:
SEXISM!
OMG THE SEXISM!
not the outright "women are inferior to men" but when they make up a female evil character for no other purpose than to fight the good female character.
*stares at naruto*
God that pisses me off.
I find that I can't watch an anime that has titties every other second, no matter how good the story is. It's kind of like they're shooting themselves in the foot.maninahat said:Also, most fanservice in a cerebral anime. It implies the writers don't think we have an attention span long enough for us to keep watching the show without the promise of titties every other minute.
That last person on Yahoo answers asking why Japanese people worship white people is a giant idiot. Long long LONG before the Japanese had contact with whites, they prized paleness. It has nothing to do with white people, as often they're actually paler than white people.Jonluw said:This keeps coming up.Twilight_guy said:Why is everyone white? Shouldn't everyone be Japanese or at least look more Asian? Hegemony sucks.
Here, have this explanatory video:
No, it's his sad, stupid personality and his constant pining for his dead girlfriend that does that.Nihilism_Is_Bliss said:I don't really have any...
Any real anime cliché works when done right I think. They can just suck really badly in crap anime or if they're way over done.
Dubs trying to pull of japanese cliché's is what gets my blood a-boilin'.
This kinda annoys me when people say this.PaulH said:This is probasbly going to be mirrored by a million people but its the whiny emo kid that becomes a hero cliche.
It seems to be a generally accepted statement as it is said so frequently, but WHEN IS THIS THE CASE?!
Very rarely in anime does this apparent stereotype exist! in fact the only one that springs to mind is evangelion... which doesn't really count. Seems more like an american 'hero' stereotype to me.
And while i'm at it: for the 1000th time, cloud is not a whiney emo kid! Just because he has millions of fangirls and is unfortunately a weeaboo magnet, doesn't make him whiney or emo! :'(
