If you mean something I'll never be able to forget, it's the beginning of world 1-1 in Super Mario Bros. If you mean what made the biggest impression on me, I don't know.

Mara C hardline in The Matrix Online. I spent an absurd amount of time there PVPing, broadcasting, or just hanging out.

The chapel/monastery/church in Eternal Darkness. I just loved how you could visit the same places in different time periods (plus I loved the game), and that locale was my favourite. I kept one save where I could just wander around the place during the war when it was used as a field hospital.

The demon room in Psychonauts where you find the emotional demons of 7 children that Milla blames herself for the death of. IT IS CREEPY.

Oooooohhh. I like this answer. I didn't remember it until I watched it but I remember first finding it. Kind of terrifying in a game I never expected it from

The ones that came to my mind (I can't pick just one, sorry):

1. Welcome to Rapture - Bioshock: That game did setting better than anything I'd played before and the first taste of it was the sweetest.

2. Rubacava - Grim Fandango: If you don't know what I'm talking about you haven't played Grim Fandango

3. Hong Kong - Deus Ex: Awesome music, incredibly surprising openness, and some awesome level design

4. Kokiri Forest - Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: For some reason it just feels like home.

The entire mansion in The remake of Resident Evil 1 on the camecube blew me away. It was so creepy and with the added sound of your own footsteps (and maybe a zombie's) and the storm outside created such a great horror atmosphere.

This one little fort in Oblivion.

Fort Alessia.

Right next to the giant bridge Southeast of the city.

I love that little marauder dungeon.
It seems like everyone has a different favorite Oblivion dungeon. :) Mine is the bandit-filled Cursed Mine, just west of Skingrad.

OT: My favorite place is the 'Cathedral of Kadesh' from Homeworld.
Yay. We choose human dungeons!

I hate undead dungeons...Creep me out. The creaking of a skeleton, the fleshy steps of the zombies, and the weird breathing of the ghosts.

The Lucky 38 building from Fallout: New Vegas. Before now, I would've said Rapture, for they're equally monumental, but the Lucky 38 has the advantage of being smack-dab in the middle of the mojave desert, and is visible from nearly every point in the gameworld. It's just so...imposing.

Acre in the original Assassin's Creed, just loved the architecture and jumping all over it.

Surface Tension from the original half life, replayed that specific bit loads for some reason..guess it was the awesome music.

Literally loads I can't even remember right now.

The Shivering Isles is definitely my favorite, with Halo 3's "Voi Highway" level in close second.

The Zanarkand Ruins from FF X still stand out for me, as does the path to the Ruins themselves. It's probably something to do with the amazing music and general atmosphere of that part of the game.

Second place is Rapture, third is Midgar from FF VII.

The capital wasteland- It's a world where I can simply wander around endlessley snd still have fun and there will ALWAYS be something you've missed no matter how much you play.

The forbidden land (i think that's what it's called)- I loved this place, from the empty deserts to the rocky coastline, the mountains, narrow passages, lakes, ruined settlements and every hidden oasis in between. Every minute of exploring this place, searching for the next colosuss was beautiful.

The beach place from CTR: crash team racing- It's one of my earliest memories.

Pretty sure I'd still have to give that prize to Balamb Garden in FF8. Wandering around there is relaxing. Might have something to do with the music...

In more recent games, I've spent far too long playing Oblivion and making Chorrol my hometown.

Probably the Bitter Coast of Vvardenfell. It's the place in the game that will always bring back the bewilderment and fear from your first days of playing, but stays interesting a hundred hours in.

The City 17 trainstation plaza is just too beautiful.

Yes, I totally hate wraiths and skeletons. Creepy and no fun to take down. I want to hear a satisfying *Oomph!* when they get a feathered shaft in the back. Oh, and better loot in human dungeons as well.

Deus Ex - New York, Hells Kitchen. It just seems so spooky and oppressive, and stuff changes in later levels.

Half Life 2 - City 17. This is probably what the above place would look like if were invaded by the Combine.

Beyond Good and Evil - The Lighthouse. Ahh home at last...but where is everyone and AHHHH WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING!

That Crash Bandicoot Racing Game Which Name Escapes Me - Any of the maps. They'e just so cool and memorable, especially the jungle temple and sewer ones.

Mario Kart - That beach place and rainbow road. Whenever I think of Mario I think of playing with my mates on these maps.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - The Zone of Alienation. Just....play the damn game....
