The final boss of Persona 3. He has a bazillion different health bars you have to deplete, in classic JRPG fashion. And none of them are particularly threatening, so they just serve as time wasters until you reach his final form. And his final form is an absolute ***** to beat unless you spent a ton of time grinding (which I didn't, because screw this game's crappy AI companions)

So...yeah. Took me 3 tries and about 3 hours to beat this one fucker. Luckily, the battle music is stellar, and the difficulty of it actually made the ending of the game all the more rewarding.

My "current" challenge would probably be unlocking the Crystal Cruiser in FTL, since Metroid Prime isn't enough of a "challenge" to qualify at the moment. Granted, I haven't gotten back to the Omega Pirate yet (and I stopped just after that last time I played), but still. I remember Thardus giving a heap of trouble last time, but he was almost a pushover this time around.

Stupid Crystal Cruiser. Gah.

Getting a game without smurfers and total noobs in Dota 2. In every single game I've played since stating pub games there have been two types of people:

People who take shadow fiend, medusa, drow, pudge, viper, sniper, etc and roflstomp their way to victory on a pile of feeding idiots and people who take recipe first and dive tower before the first creep wave spawns[footnote]This actually happened once. Someone grabbed the recipe for Shiva's Guard and went bottom. I saw him move past the tier one tower before creeps spawned, pinged him and said b. He kept right on going. Rushed tower, died in five hits and dc'd. I'm pretty sure he gave up on dota right then and there.[/footnote].

Take a wild guess which type comprises my entire team and take a stab in the dark at whether or not the other team are all smurfers. Fuck the lack of a proper ranking system in that game.

Edit: Just realized that's not really a challenge per say. I'm also doing an ironman playthrough of FarCry 3. No story missions, no radio towers, no survivability perks, all options off (indicators, reticle, auto aim, etc.), no cars, no fast travel, no ammo refills at outposts (except arrows) and my only weapons are a bow, the starting pistol, a flare gun and a skorpion (without attachments). Oh, and I'm playing on the highest difficulty. I win the game if I take down all the outposts on the first island.

So far I've got six or seven of the bases captured I'm fairly sure and it's been a hell of a time. Challenging and exciting, but immensely rewarding and fun when the last pirate falls in the outpost. I might even consider doing a full story playthrough using these options (minus the no story mission of course) at some point in the future.

Actually finishing the logo for my Dota2 team. It might also be useful to pick up a fifth member.

Runner up: actually sitting down with and finishing Fortune Summoners and Recettear.

Trying to get the slightest bit good at Street Fighter X Tekken.
Most people would find it discouraging to never win any more than 1 in every 5 online games. I do, but for whatever reason I'm struggling on.

Oh, and also Anarchy Reigns' hard mode. I haven't tried for a couple of weeks, but I can't get past the first fight of Leo's campaign. Since I've made the effort to get all the way through Jack's on hard though, I'll try again eventually.

I have not really had a meaty challenge from a game in a while, but my PERSONAL challenge is to master Meepo in Dota 2, the hardest character to control. (MICROMANAGEMENT MOTHERBUGGERY)

What route did you choose?:)

OT: 1K'ing Bayonetta. So much fun... Pillow Talk is amazing. Still can't beat Angel Rodin though.

I can relate to super shy people. I got the good ending aswell, a bitter sweet feeling I must say since I wish the story could continue. If they ever make a KS2 I want the same characters damnit >.<

My biggest challenge is getting Fifa 13's creation center thing to work on my computer, but that's not really a gaming challenge. Just an EA challenge.

Other than that I've been playing Skyrim as an illusionist using the Requiem mod on max difficulty with no enchanting/alchemy/smithing, and holy crap it's incredibly difficult to do without invisibility. I don't want to be cheap and hire a follower though, because then i'd just sit there casting courage over and over. I am level 15 though, so it's not impossible. Really fun though.

The most depressing part of Dark Souls' finale for me was that despite Gwyn being one of the easier fights, I'll always remember that my dramatic entrance right before facing him was ruined by an invader who soundly walloped me. I was strong enough to essentially beat Zeus, but someone made sure to remind me I still sucked despite that.

Also, Hanako.

I'm currently trying to do high enemy density terrorist hunt on Rainbow Six Vegas 2 on increasing difficulty levels. I'm starting to think high density wasn't meant for one person. Still fun though.

Owners won't give me money to bolster the team and the opponents are good -.-

Other than thatm Batman Arkham City, I can't find Nora Freeze, seriously, I'm very very close to asking someone here for help or just going to a gamefaq site. How hard can it be to find a big chunk of ice that's marked on the minimap!!!???

Basically doing whatever I can to make Kingdoms of Amalur challenging.
No trainers, which I never use anyway, no crafting at all, no shop interaction i.e. I only use what I can find and a couple other restrictions I can't remember cuz I'm tired.

It's gettin' there. :D
Agreed with you there. Even on Hard, Amalur isn't very difficult.

OT: I recently tried a Junk Armor run in Megaman Zero 4. It...didn't go so well.

Last night I finally sauntered into Artorias of the Abyss' content in Dark Souls.

And promptly had my ass handed to me by Sanctuary Guardian and skewered by Artorias. This is really not the place for a medium-speed character.
