Earlier, someone posted about having to listen to christmas music around the clock due to a job at a market. He/she has my sympathies. Anyway, if you were in the same situation and had to listen to one christmas song played over and over again, what song would you pick?

I would probably choose Silent Night, sung by a traditional chorus.

Fairytale of new york would be mine because it is really the only Christmas song I can tolerate.

EDIT: Also Hey Santa Claus by Kevin bloody Wilson, but that's more of a parody Christmas song.

"What Child is This?" in various different performances as long as they did not include new age remixes.

This. But, as with every other song, not on constant repeat.

Man, I think hearing any song non-stop all day would fucking kill me.

I really like Bob Dylan's take on Must be Santa....

EDIT: Christmas Ninjas >.> Fairy Tale of New York...Mainly because I can sing along to it and still sound better than Shane MacGowan XD

So yeah...one of those two. Someone else can pick for me.

I really, really don't know why I like this. I'd say sentimental reasons, but I don't think I have any. I just like it.
Yeah, I'll... I'll leave the planet now...

Killing in the Name

In all honesty I don't mind most of the well-known Christmas songs. What I HATE are the cheap instrumental / cover versions cheapskate supermarkets and cafes buy. Either buy the proper thing or don't bother at all...anything but a polyphonic saxophone cover of "Mistletoe and Wine".

Any thoughts on this?
IMO, it's great.

I like Christmas music, just not contemporary Christmas music with lyrics.

Silent Night is the only one I really like, though I'm not opposed to any of the others. It's very well composed. But it would ruin the song for me however, so maybe something else.

Anything done by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra I'm fine with, any other Christmas music makes want to strangle Santa's elves. That's why I try to stay away from malls around the holidays.

The Nutcracker Suite is always nice. Also, the following hymns.

"Angels We Have Heard on High"
"Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence"
"God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen"
"Silent Night" (If done well)
"O Come, O Come Emmanuel" (Technically a hymn of Advent, but still?)
"What Child is This?" (Greensleeves)
"Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming"
"I Saw Three Ships"
"Carol of the Bells"

jingle bell rock is the only christmas song i can stand to have on my ipod. also, most rock/electronic remixes of any christmas song tends to be fairly awesome.

I'm not a big fan of Christmas carols, being Jewish and all, but anything Jazzy and upbeat isn't too bad.

God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman. It's got a nice beat, and I've heard it sung in a variety of manners. It's a very flexible christmas song.
