as much as i enjoy from time to time examining and deriving joy from other peoples sorrows, is this really the type of discussion thread that belongs on a gaming information website? i know that half of the people who create these miscellaneous threads just do so in order to gain posts and therefor garner attention, however there are other more appropriate places to do this.

do us all a favor and keep these self pity generating threads off of this site.
Please leave.

No one's forcing you here, and obviously people are enjoying discussing something more personally relevant than "What would YOU do with Dr. Manhattan's powers?".

Ill share a few in order from most traumatic-to least:

1:In second grade, on "Fun day"my mom was helping out, i was feelin a little crappy and i told my mom my eyes hurt. She took me to the nurse and the nurse sent me home. Then i went to the doctor and i had a real mean doctor who immediately sent me to the hospital.I was so scared cuz they though i had this bad disease and they had to give me all these shots.Eventually they gave me the spinal tap which hurt like hell almight.I screamed and crid the loudest I ever did.It felt like some1 slowly was stabbing a knife into my back.

2:I have this problem where i cannot talk or stand still without throwing some kind of small object in the are repeatedly(thats why i usually care a small rubberball with me wherever i go) and I did this while on the floor. It went down my throat and i was choking. After a long while of coughing I didnt no if i swallowed it or spit it out but it was scary.

3:When i was real little i dropped a beachball into my pool.I ran over to get it and fell in.I couldnt swim and no one saw this happening accept my grandmas friend, she dove in and saved my life

Also My first trip to disney world was when i was like 6 or 7.Unfortuntely, this trip was supposed to be from September 3, to september 12.The year was 2001.So 9/11 happened when we were in the park and they made us leave early at risk of another bombing.

I saw my cousin get hit by a car when I was about 6, didn't kill him though, I don't think I felt much about it but I guess its though of as traumatic by my parents as they did get worried it might have disturbed me.

Most of my childhood has been lost to time, but from 8 on my lax nature has allowed me to take most of my experiences in stride, and I've had the fortune of not having much in the way of terrible times. However, my most traumatizing moment was simultaneously one of my best.

Midnight, April 23, 1993. I woke up to the sound of someone blundering around the house, followed by hushed voices. Automatically jumping to the conclusion of a burglar, I grabbed my bokken (as I've always been more into martial arts than sports) and snuck out of my room. As it turns out, I was right.

There was a burglar, and he had woken my parents. Rather than fleeing, however, he was holding them at gunpoint. A roaring, fearless nine-year-old made him turn around. A hit to the knees, then to the left arm, then to the head. He was immobilized, disarmed, and knocked unconscious in quick succession. A quick 911 call later, and he was gone.

Not a lot of trauma in my youth, but I gotta go with the two and a bit years of fairly intense bullying in school that set my social skills back a couple years and that I still blame for my self confidence issues today.

do us all a favor and keep these self pity generating threads off of this site.

That's why they have the off topic dicussion forums, so how about you learn what you're talking about or stick strictly to the game forums.

My older cousin got run over on the way to my birthday and his mother still blames... Well me.

Also, I am adopted, and as it happens my parents were huge Marilyn Manson fans... You can imagine I have been popular throughout school.

When my bathing suit fell off after jumping into a pool, but that has probably happened to everyone. More traumatic stuff than that has probably happened to me than that but I can't be bothered to relive those moments.

Very nearly getting an eye shot out by a BB gun... *sigh* Why is the Christmas Story always right?!
The bb went into the skin just to the left of my eye, and had to be yanked out with forceps... It was the summer between 6th and 7th grade I think.

The most traumatic one from my early childhood would have to be:

When I was four, my mom met my future stepfather, and he would bring his two kids over every once and awhile. Well, the girl really disliked me. She would beat up on her younger brother, then convince him that it was me who did it. Then, either my mom or her boyfriend would come down and hit me with any object that they could reach, be it a belt, hairbrush, or just a bare hand. I specifically remember a wooden spoon breaking over me. I tried to tell them that it wasn't me, but they didn't believe me through the tears.

Eventually, my mom walked in on it happening and watched the whole thing unfold. They tried to apologize, but the betrayal I felt stills stays with me today. It had to have happened at least a dozen times.

I've got a bunch more, just that one really sticks out in my memory. Maybe later I'll tell you guys about how when I was twelve, my stepdad choked me before I had to go to swim practice, then when I burst out crying there, my mom asked me to apologize.

I remember being really disturbed when I (1)saw a "Rampage" stand up arcade game.(2) read a book about vampires

Because I was young and sheltered, watching a monkey bite people in half scared me for some reason, and I kept thinking a monkey was going to break into my house and eat me. This may have seemed like a petty thing to everyone else but I was scared shitless.
Second was when I read some book about vampires and kept thinking they were in my closet, I eventually overcame my fear by leaving my toy robot on his motion sensing mode, when I would go to sleep (LOL that robot was one badass toy)

I also Had a lot of physical injuries and stitches as a child. One of the more recognizable ones was when my teacher tried to give me a hug (friend of the family) in like 1st grade, her belt cut open the area under the bottom of my eye, I had to get stitches 2 weeks before my B-Day, but I think the experience hurt her more then me.

Edit: wow my childhood was all roses and sunshine compared to some of you...or maybe I just forgot.

I went through some pretty intense bullying that messed up my personality for quite a while.

Honestly, though, I have to say adulthood has been way more traumatic.

Woah... I suppose I should really value the life I have...

Anyways, the most traumatic experience I had when I was younger was when I nearly drowned. Luckily, a friend in the pool pulled me to the edge, where I was able to recover. I got over it, and now, I can swim pretty confidently.

Thank you. Most people would just say I was stupid. I have no sense of self preservation when I'm mad.
I second that.

Self preservation is part of the problem with the progressive stupidity in humans...

On topic, I missed my Futbol's(soccer) team bus to a 4 hour ride.

I found out that the bus was engulfed in flames. All my real childhood friends died.

I was a shy 11 year old.

To this day I cant make much friends in fear of losing them.

Wow, my life seems pretty... how shall I say this... easy compared to what some of you guys went through. The only thing that might qualify as traumatic would be my parents divorce. Even then I didnt really care...
