Both my best and worst are anime films.
Best Movie of 2013: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Movie III: Rebellion
I'm a huge Madoka fan, but eve I wasn't prepared for this film. I never came out of a movie with such conflicted feelings in a long time. I thought I'd come out of the film feeling good that I just watched Madoka, but I left that movie feeling devastated, but in a good way. It looks beautiful, the music is fantastic, the story caught me by surprise, and whether you love it or hate it, it really gets you thinking, and it will never leave you. It's the End of Evangelion of the series, and I do love EoE. In fact, it's a better Evangelion movie than the Evangelion movie we just got. Of the movies I saw this year, this one got the biggest reaction out of me.
Other movies I've enjoyed this year were: Frozen, Pacific Rim, Prisoners, Pain & Gain, Iron Man 3
Worst Movie of 2013: Nerawareta Gakuen
WHile this movie technically came out in 2012, I didn't see it until the DVD release this year, so I'm putting it for this year since it pissed me off that much. Anyways, this movie sucked. It looked pretty, but it was a goddamn mess. I watched this movie in disbelief in how bad it was, as I expected it to be mediocre at most. I never got that angry watching an anime since Penguindrum.
Other worst movies I've seen this year: Spring Breakers, A Good Day to Die Hard
Movies I didn't much cared for:
Man of Steel
Evil Dead (2013)
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
Stoker
