So, I'm going to learn to play keyboard (its coming tommorow) and I was wondering, what instrument(s) do you play escapees and why. Me, I chose the keyboard because I love both the classical and the modern, and the keyboard seems to be the perfect mix for that.

Sound off.
Ps. Sorry for my English, its not excactly perfect.

I play guitar, bass, ukelele and banjo.

I picked up guitar at around the age of 15 because I was getting into rock and metal, and wanted to play what I listened to. I started bass a couple of years later because bass is too damn awesome to not play. Well, and because I really wanted to play some funky basslines.

As for the other two, it's because they're both supremely badass.

I'm learning to play the GEE-TAR. I've a long way to go though, I also used to play the cello, but I hated having to practice 20 minutes a day every day.

20 minutes? I know players who spend longer than that just warming up - every day.

I go to a music school though, so all those guys are looking to be professional concert players.

Not me though... I just like making noise.

Edit - I play guitar and electronics btw

Drums. I play drums, and I... am... awesome!
I'd love to learn keyboard, bass and sax as well, they're my other favourite instruments

I play the Piano, bass, bassoon, xylophone/marimba/chimes, drums of many different persuasion (though I prefer the Tympani, just freaking kickass)

My favorites to play, though, are the Piano and Bassoon

Your English is pretty good for a second language. Hell, your grammar and spelling are a lot better than that of some of the first-language English speakers on here.

If you have any desire to compose, even collaboratively, then the keyboard is probably the best instrument to start on. You can comp, you can use counterpoints and you can have multiple melodies going on at once. You can use both bass lines and higher-pitched melodies simultaneously. You can see everything in front of you at once. Plus it's fun.

I'm a drummer with very little in the way of melodic music theory training, but I'm learning on a guitar my sister loaned me right now. It works because Rock is my focus. If I ever had the time to pick up a 3rd instrument, it would definitely be the keyboard.

Really? 20 minutes seems like nothing to me. I sometimes find it hard to practice an hour a day, but...to each his/her own, I guess.

Drums, and guitar.
Kinda wish I had a singing voice though.

Hey, best of luck learning the piano! It's all about practice.

On the right hand side of the post, you should see a "quote" button. Just click that and it'll show up on whatever you're typing.

Fruity Loops is my instrument. I also enjoy drumming, so I may want to buy a drum set.

I played the piano, pipe organ, violin, trumpet, guitar and did some vocal work on the side. 3+ hours practice every day. Too bad I grew up and got a job, now there's not time for it anymore.
