My name in Dutch is pronounced exactly the same as in English and fairly boring, but this chap *points down* scores with his name in Dutch.

I don't have a people, I'm Australian, we were fucking convicts, thanks a lot England (at least we kick your arse at everything, ha!) so it's still just "Braden Evans".
"Braden" is the Dutch word for cooking or cooked - technically this person is called "Cooked Evans" in my language.

In Cherokee, my name is "Iwa". My name has no meaning the way it is, but it's spelled backwards from my fathers name which is "Harry". In Cherokee, Harry means "Ruler of House".
"Ruler of House"?

You mean guys named Harry can actually order Hugh Laurie around?

Awesome!
It took me a few seconds to get that joke... lol

Also, I fucked up. It's "Ruler of Home", not house. xD

Oh....

I suppose I could make a PS3 joke then. But it just doesn't work as well.

Still I didn't know that "Harry" had that connotation, thanks for the info!

Michael (my name) is Hebrew in origin, and means "Who is like God". I used to think that was cool, but then I figured out God is not likely to exist so it lost it's coolness :p

My full name is Dougal Munchkin (don't laugh) Meredith Colverson

Roughly translated: Dougal (Scottish) Dark Stranger; Munchkin (German, I think) Monk kin; Meredith (Irish) Protector of the Sea; Colverson (English, from up north) Son of a Colver, which might mean coal miner, I'm not sure.

So basically I'm a dark stranger who was raised by Monks and I'm supposed to be a guardian of the sea, and my father was a coal miner.

Not bad... I can work with this.

Well, my name is Joseph and my family hails from. . . well all over europe (and 1/16th cherokee). As a result, I'm fairly certain that my name would still be Joseph. Unless of course you went as far back as the Aramaic, but I don't really think that would still count as "my people".

I'm fairly sure my name is code for "Soccer mum". Seriously, My first name is Susan, which is like calling your child "Generic Girls Name #4" and my maiden name is a name very common in Scotland, it's basically the Scottish version of Smith. Then I married a guy who has an incredibly common last name. So yeah. Basically if I don't want a mundane life, it's an uphill struggle against my name.

I'm a norwegian dude with a norwegian name, derivated from Danish, derivated from English, which finally originated from hebrew(the bible). Basically my name is some random abbrivation from Hebrew, simplified for the limited lingual capabilities of mah' tribesmen/people XD

Amanda is Latin in origin, and means worthy of love. Lee is my last name and it means:

A pasture, meadow, lands not plowed, a common, a sheltered place; Lee, a river, a stream, from Lli, Welsh, a stream.

I also have the curse of a common name. My records at school are always getting mixed up, and I recieve lots of mail that was meant for other Amandas.

I don't have it as bad as my dad, though... Won't tell you his first name.

My name would be Terje.
In Norwegian it is Terje, with Thærie as an alternate spelling.

It means "spear of the gods" and/or "Thor's spear".
