Well, I'm only 13 and use a headset...

That said, I'm often mistaken for a 17-year-old because my voice is quite deep.

I agree, I like to think that I went down fighting and took a few with me, then I see the score at the end of the match...

ME: units lost 212, Buildings lost: 12, Total score: 2354

OTHER GUY: units lost 18, Buildings lost: 0 Total score: 879,321

At which point I exit the lobby and slap around a AI opponent until my good spirits return.

Just general immaturity and stupidity.

I mean, I didn't get called a ****** this much in high school, back when it was still OK to use "gay" as a synonym for "bad" (not that it was OK then, but no one would call you on it, that is for sure).

People that brag about how awesome they are after they stomp you a bunch are rather annoying too. It's just a game people. I know it matters to you a lot, but calm down. We all see how awesome you are, don't worry.

This is generally why I prefer to play with friends that I actually know and hang out with sometimes. It limits the douchbaggery since they know they'll have to face you in person eventually.

Yeah that last part wasn't meant to be taken seriously. I'll just say high pitched voices don't sound very good when you're trying to shoot people, who are in turn shooting at you.
It's like having someone poke you in the sides whilst you're trying to drive a car.

badies.
people that think they have equial or higher skill to you but honostly are lacking in skill when compared to average players.

i can stand idiots. i can stand newbies. hell i can even stand the occational greifer/hacker because i look at the game as it all in fun. but looking at people that have crap skill level trying to pass off as competative top line players just irk me to no end. they announce every kill as if it was impossible to do by any one else and claim every death is because of hacks or lag...

outside that
general stupidity

case in point, in a resent L4D2 run i played, some one tried to say EA developed L4D2...
no... just... no.

Campers. Especially the kind that kills you and is still there when you go back for revenge... And they are still there, you kill them and leave. Soon after they respawn there they are, in that same place. Free kills for me I suppose.

Also people that exploit glitches, my husband was playing MW2 and this dude managed to glitch himself inside a rock on afghan, he had almost full view through the rock but you couldn't see him at all. You know he's there but you can't do any damage to him at all.

I don't understand why people do these things, they are very rarely game winning strategies. Plus, BORING. I get bored after about 5 seconds in the same place, why wait for someone to come by when you could kill 2 or 3 in that time?

My recent spurt of Modern Warfare 2 has really got my blood pressure up. God, that game is so damn frustrating sometimes.

Sore losers irk me more than anything. Griefers and hackers you can just kick/ban. Sore losers rage quit, grief, insult you, and ***** about the weapons/tactics you're using, making the game unpleasant or forcing you to start over.

I don't mean to sound arrogant, but if someone is outplaying you, you should see it as a challenge, not a hit to your ego. I actually enjoy playing against opponents who can kick my ass; I learn a lot that way.

Basically this. As soon as we invent a perfect Ai that doesn't want to slaughter us in real life, I will have it at all costs.

Teamkillers. I was genuinely trying to finish off Dark carnival in left 4 dead 2 earlier today and somebody joined who was just shooting the other players for the hell of it. Mind you his username was MW2MarineGhost so I probably should've taken heed of that warning.

All forms of idiocy. I have to use a "Guy voice" sometimes just to get people to focus on the f-ing game. Sure, "Are you really a girl?" is hilarious, but only for the first few times a day. And some days not at all.

I've mostly stopped playing online for now though. When I started to daydream about castrating my fellow gamers I knew I needed a little break from it.

EDIT: I do mean all forms of idiocy, but you've listed most of them here someplace so I added on the one more applicable to me.

I play a lot of Wrestling games online, or at least i used to...it sorta got a lil' aggravatin' when folks're so concerned for the Win that they make absolutely no attempt to make it like an actual MATCH...just run around for a couple laps until they can clip you from behind with some kinda lame move then stomp on ya 'till you can finally manage to get up, rinse and repeat...i mean c'mon, when was th'last time you ever saw the Undertaker runnin' laps around the ring and hittin' folks from behind (i'm pretty sure only wrestlin' fans'll get that refference)...? Basically nobody seems able to have a good time with a game unless their winning...i can handle losing to somebody who generally out played me, but if i get beat over and over by the same bs tactics just because somebody's found a flaw in the game design that allows such things, it tends to wear on th'nerves....

regardless, nobody on this site plays wrestlin' games so i'm wastin' m'time....

i would mention somethin' 'bout Mumorpuggers but i intensely hate them

Can't talk about shooters because i loathe guns....

man, i really don't fit in with this particular topic do i?

*waves hand all jedi-like* you didn't see anything...

Few things:
1.People who don't bother to learn the maps and skip it every time and call me gay for actually being good on it.
2.People who ***** about game balance if there's a legitimate problem or not. (The latter is most likely)
3. Griefers.

People who teamkill for the 'must-get' item, and people who also rush for those items./quote]

But I like people who rush for those 'must-get' items. Find a nice spot overlooking said item and fun is guaranteed for as long as the round goes for. xD Teamkillers are slightly more annoying, but nothing a decent sniper rifle, cloak or nuke can't solve. Rifle for games like CS:S, cloak for TF2, nuke or equivalent for C&C.

This. I go from complete noob to best in the game just by getting kicked over and over and over till I can copy them. And if you always go for the best, you learn pretty quick.

Griefers who can kill you but are invulnerable are rather annoying, but I think the worst thing in gaming is the 'must get kills' mentality. If you're in CS:S and supposed to rescue the hosties, or in TF2 and there's a flag waiting for you, nothing is more annoying than watching your entire team run off to find an enemy player to kill instead of completing the objectives. All it takes is one good player on the other side and you can lose the game when you could have won.

There are plenty of people that piss me off online, more than I really care to count. But they are all on MW 2.
