I'm indifferent toward it. While I don't intenf to get myself one but I'm fine for others to have one or more.

I quite like them, if done right.
I've seen way too many people with names and tribal patterns that I just know they're going to regret soon. (infact I know at least one person who has a name on his back that is already meaningless)
Personally I want a steampunk style biomechanical tattoo on the left side of my chest, just below the bust line.

Like people have said before tattoos shouldn't be something you get because you can, or want to because others have them.

I have a tattoo on the back of my right calf of Rainbow Dash. And I'd bet my savings that 99% of everyone here will judge me harshly for it simply because they think it's stupid, or because they hate MLP FIM. And you know what judge away, but you think your opinion matters. Not in the slightest, and if you still think they do, well keep on bleeding about it I'll just laugh.

Its a representation of my fierce loyalty to my friends and family, among other things of how I live my life. It may also show off I'm a Brony and a fan, but that reason is far back to secondary. (Especially since I wear pants most of the year)

I'm off now. To do as I please.

I find them unsightly. I can't imagine getting one myself, and I wouldn't encourage someone else to get one, but if you want it I won't stop you.

I think a fair few look nice. Being absolutely covered, or having those sleeves is just awful in my opinion. Especially when women do it.
I wouldn't mind on, not sure where to get it though. Where does it hurt least? I'm a big wimp D:

I saw one of my friends in town and she had a Hello Kitty one on her chest. It looked like it'd been done with felt tip.

I have several so i guess i like them. The problem is once you get one.. well I only know a handful of people with one tattoo and all of them it's something tiny like on the top of their foot or something.

My wife recently got her first tattoo. a Thor's hammer (my name is Thor)

I always wanted a tattoo, but I still don't have one. The reason I want one is because I can, really. You only live once, and I want to experience as much as I can
My idea for a tattoo is something like this:

(someone here has this sign as their avatar)
I've a friend who has that on his elbow. Everyone asks him if it's supposed to be an anus.
Just a warning.

That's the 8 sided Chaos star, that would definitely make a great tat!

I'm indifferent about them, but I cannot tolerate the tribal, dragon or name tattoos. In fact, I don't think you should get one unless you're drawn the thing yourself.

I'd get a tattoo, but I go in and out of phases quite quickly. I'd lose interest in whatever I'd have tattooed on me. I don't mind them much on other people, as long as they're not on the face, neck or stomach. And both entire arms tattooed is also something I'm a bit "err" on.

There are good kinds of tatoos and there are the bad kinds. People can see the difference, but that doesn't stop people from making the bad kinds. IMO, if it looks good it looks good, and creative stuff is fine too, as long as it's not obnoxious.
Personally, I'd like to get a small Mark of Slaanesh on my left breast, and that's it. It has a lot of meaning to me, and I never want to forget that meaning. Will it look good in 50 years? Maybe, maybe not. Hell maybe no one will remember what it is (most don't even know now), but I will. That's all that really matters.
anything "generally" good or bad or would it depend on the induvidual in question?

anyway Ive always liked the Idea, (liek the assasins creed symbol..then again mabye I should know better)

Ive never understood "it will look terrible when your 50!!"

by the time your 50 you dont give a shit about apearence (within reason)

I hate them I couldn't stand having any sort of ink or even non permanent drawings on my skin.
I cringed everytime I watched rooster teeth because of Geoffs tattos. well i don't mind tattos where I can't see them and i won't judge someone because of it but I will cringe at the sight of a tatto though.

I don't disagree with them, probably because the main reason i've never decided to get a tattoo myself is because I doubt whatever I would have done would seem anything other than corny or attention-grabby after a short amount of time.

You just turned 18?

Wait another year (or rather two). Your persepective on life WILL change quickly once you're out of school which means that your taste will change as well.

Nothing against tattoos (as long they're subtle and tasteful). They add to the uniqueness of a person as long as there's any unique thought process going on while choosing a motive.

Random tribal tattoos on your upper arm or tramp stamp therefore suck.

I have my own tattoo, with my own story behind it. So anyone who tells me tattoo's are silly and a mutilation of the body I say to:

"Pah, then don't get one. 't Is my own rationalised choice and -I- am content with it. I can cover it up for job interviews and serious related business, but for the rest of the time you got nothing to say about me."

Seriously. I can understand why some tattoo's look weird and off and that they give out a wrong impression very quickly. But really, having a tattoo does not change someone into scum or criminals. Heck, it hardly changes you at all. I just carry my tattoo along to remind myself of a few things.

I've been thinking about it since I was 16 and I got it put when I was about 19 or 20 years old. Paid for it with my own money (hard earned cash), researched various designs and then drew up my own (I'll leave out I found a near exact copy on the net weeks later but oh well. Mine is still mine from my design.). Parent's did not agree, but they did not stop me either. They did make me tell them -why- I wanted to get one, what it stood for and after that they agreed with me.

Getting a tattoo put is not proving you're an adult or anything else for that matter. Getting a custom shop one is fine by me. But seriously, nock it off with all the stars. 't Is getting rediculous. Everyone has one these days it seems.

When I got mine put on my upper left arm (the blue zone according to the picture) a girl across me got "Angel" a halo around the A on her lower abdomin area, and Devil with the tail pointing down towards the tailbone area on her back. I thought to myself "The fuck girl.. You're only 17 or something" (she had a paper of permission from her parents and was with two girlfriends.) "Hope you don't regret it though." To me, tattoo's without sound reasoning are tattoo's not worth getting put on my body. But I won't pass judgement if you have a little heart on your arm with an anchor (stereotypical tattoo for tough sailors n all that. Yes I deal in stereotypes these days.) saying "Mom" across a parchment either.

I have two, ones my avatar picture, and ones an iron cross, because although Germans won't ever be considered the nicest people, they're damn strong, its also for my grandpa, one of the strongest people I've known. Anyways, there's nothing wrong with tattoos, pick carefully, and let the person go to town putting it on you, people have a problem with your tattoo? Tell them its not theirs and to let you be

I don't have any myself, but plan on getting one.

As far on females... I love them as long as they're high-quality professional jobs. The more the better... it really ups the hot skank factor... and I love hot skanks.

Part of the whole fitness/health craze I think. People think they're going to look the same for the next 30 years as long as they exercise and eat healthy. It's going to be so funny when they find out they get wrinkly just like everyone else. :D

If it means something then I'm all for it. Even if the reason is just to show your fondness for something that's still a reason.

tattoos are an identifying mark that come the revolution can prevent you from blending in as a member of the resistance
