ugh, roleplaying. how about you write your own book if you like a certain made story enough? seriously, you could actually make money writing childrens stories (assuming most the stories roleplayers create are quite immature and childish but they don't even realize it)
I would not want my kids reading a book written using this kind of RP as it's story...
what kind of roleplaying are we talking about; dungeons and dragons everyone create a stereotypical LOTR character as we journey to defeat evil roleplaying? ...or i dress a hooker up as lara croft and have her talk dirty to me with a british accent and then some playtime?
Guess someone didn't read the OP. Tsk tsk...

I guess I've done a little roleplaying before. We pretended we were married and we wanted to fool around without waking the kids up. I don't know if that counts or not.

If you're curious, it's because we were both hopeless romantics and hormonal. Don't look at me like that.
lol, well played

Imagine if you had no desire for sexual interaction whatsoever.
Sex seems kinda... Weird now, doesn't it?

Now, top on the idea that other people have a desire to do this oddly specific action involving the organs of another human being, that they apparently also want to do this while pretending to be someone else.

It would feel way too narmy. Not possible to take seriously, it is. Or as we Swedes say, nej tack.

Ehh its ok I've done it a couple times but the last time I did was weird and turned me off of it for good its always weird when your gf proposes that you dress up as batman and she dresses up as robin.

The thing about perversions is while the possibilities are nearly infinite, a couple's interest is not.

Wow, I really expected more from this thread. :\
I think reading http://textsfromlastnight.com/ has skewed my perception of the current generation. [I'm 33 so I'm actually talking about people in their early 20's, ect.] At least in the sense of people being more open about sexual things.
I think most of the fun for me and my partner in role-playing is using it to grease the wheels for some really spicy dirty talk. Actual props and whatnot are reduced to a few important pieces so neither of us are encumbered. [Bondage equipment included. If it takes more then 5-8 minutes to get it on or off, it's just in the way.]
For example- furry porn is cute and all, but I have no interest in fucking someone in a mascot suit. At the very least; it'd be WAY too hot and uncomfortable. A cat ear head-band is more like it, and maybe a tail with a 'creative' attachment.
Just a little can go so far. Both me and Spirit are pretty good at doing various vocal impressions and accents too.
I think the important thing is having that incredibly high level of resonance with your partner where you CAN play silly pretend games and there is no judging going on. Where both people are just free to enjoy themselves without worrying about pics ending up on the internet or being laughed at behind closed doors.
Things like BDSM are adult games because they require an adult level of trust.

As for the other role-playing...
I was the GM in my high school group [18 boys + me] and usually focused on Heroes Unlimited with a TMNT expansion so they could have some mutant animal-people too.
