OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
MOBO: ASUS P8Z68-V PRO
CPU: Intel i7 2700k
RAM: 16gb DDR3 Corsair Vengeance (4x4gb)
Vid Card: AMD Radeon 6970
SSD: 120gb something something (vertex 2 I think)
HDD: 2 x 500gb
Case: Thermaltake Chaser Mk-I
Heatsink: CoolerMaster V8

Build this at the start of last year.
Most happy with everything it's done considering my machine before was running an AMD 3800+

Have the operating system on the SSD so it goes like a dream. Been using SteamMover to have my current games on the SSD and move the sometimes games to the HDD.

Particularly went for the Thermaltake case (http://www.thermaltake.com.au/products-model.aspx?id=C_00001719) as it has a hotswap bay for hdds. I have way too many of these laying around with random movies and music.

Made a massive n00b mistake when putting it together. Realised one of the RAM heatsink was in the way of the V8 CPU heatsink. Ended up taking the RAM heatsink off with some pliers :)

Case: Some Aero Cool black case. It has red LEDs on the fans, so it goes faster.[footnote]Colour and coolness of LEDs do not actually increase computer performance or fan speed.[/footnote] That makes me happy.
Motherboard: Gigabyte something or other (I'm on a roll, eh?).
CPU: Intel i7 2600
RAM: 16GB DDR3 (Ripjaw, I think is the brand).
GPU: 2GB AMD Radeon 6950 HD
Hard Drive: 2 TB Western Digital.
PSU: 750 Watt (maybe 800) something.
Optical Drive: I have an LG Blu-Ray drive, but I'm not sure what the DVD drive is (they're both writer drives too).
Moniter: 42' LG Smart TV.
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

Only think I could want differently at the moment is, maybe, a SSD. That's all, really.

Prepare to have your minds blown!

Motherboard: EMAXX 780G Pro
Video Card: Palit 9800GT Sonic Edition that I got second hand
Processor: AMD x2 240 2.8 GHz
Memory: 4GB Kingston 800MHz DDR2 (2GB x 2)
HDD: WDC Caviar Blue 320GB
PSU: Cooler Master Extreme 525W
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

I quite enjoy Torchlight 2 in the highest settings, thank you very much. The computer's 3 years old now. It will keep chugging along for an indefinite amount of time until I scrounge up enough funds that will not impact the monthly budget that much. Hey, I have investments to protect!

I know this is a common topic, but I just kinda wanna jam with the tech heads;D
What are your specs and what do you have to say about them? Is gaming the only intensive activity you use it for? How old is your build? Are you thinking of upgrading any time soon? How?

Graphics card is fine for now, but after the Xbone reveal, I'm gearing up to do a lot more gaming on my computer, so I'll probably upgrade soon (suggestions?) and when I do, I'll probably up my power supply to HX750w to be safe.
Only thing you really can consider without spending an absolute mint would be a second 660Ti for SLI.
+1

this is the only ( sensible ) option for you, and i highly recommend it too. who doesn't want an extra 1300 cores?
mmm.. cores.. 'drool'

personally i'm holding out for actual title launches so i can see how well they work, maby get a 770 new ( preferably in sli ) so i can judge what i actually need for 120hz in new games but then i love having overkill, i realise it's costing me £400+ for 20 fps but atleast i had the good sense to skip the titan, did you see the 780/titan scores? that's some spend for essentially equal performance ( due to tdp headroom / issues )

Wow look at all those shiny new rigs. The first time I posted my specs on the Escapist forums it was by far one of the best builds anyone here had. It has had a few changes here and there but the core parts haven't changed.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 @ 3.2 GHz (from 2.66)
Motherboard: Gigabyte EP45-DS4P
GPU: Galaxy GTX 260 (216 stream processor revision)
RAM: GSkill 8GB (4x2GB)DDR2-1066
Case: Silverstone Raven 2
PSU: Corsair TX750
Cooler: Coolermaster V8
Sound: Creative Sound Blaster Titanium
SSD: Crucial M4 256GB
HDDs: 1TB Samsung F1, 2TB Seagate Barracuda, 2TB Seagate Barracuda Green, 1TB non-functioning Samsung F3 that I can't be bothered removing.
OSs: Windows 8 Pro 64bit, Ubuntu 13.04 64bit for some uni stuff.
Keyboard: CMStorm Quickfire Rapid with Cherry Black switches (mechanical keyboard master race)

Not bad for something that was originally put together in 2009.

How is it? I have wanted to know from somebody who has used it for more than just a review for the longest time.
Been great since 2011. Shakes the building. Inexpensive 5.1 AVR w/ excellent internet radio choices. Use my PS3 for direct digital BluRay DTS-HD Master Audio & Dolby TrueHD. Only as good as your Speakers!

Surely they'd improve cooling by 20%...

Meanwhile, on my desk:

Case: Cooler Master K5 - with genuine LAN scuffs
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z68 Series
CPU: Intel i5 2500k
RAM: 2x4 GiB Kingston HyperX
SSD: Corsair Force 3, 128 GiB - boot drive
HDD: Hitachi 500 GiB
PSU: HighPower 650W
Graphics: Radeon HD 5770
OS: MS Windows 7 64b Professional

Peripherals:
2 monitors - one by HP, which I picked up for £15 from a spares shop, one by Dell which came with my old computer
Emprex gaming keyboard (I've never heard of them either)
Cerulian 5-button mouse (Nope, still not heard of them)
Logitech G930 Headphones
Pinkie Pie doll which my hilarous flatmates bought me because I have never watched an episode of My Little Pony, but they somehow think that I do.

The SSD has Steam installed on it so my boot times are nice and fast, but my steamapps "folder" is basically a bunch of symbolic links to my HDD, so any large games like Skyrim don't take up the entire drive. If I find myself playing something lots and want to decrease its load times, I can just flip the symlink back over and enjoy it.

Hell yeah! Gaming to the lowest bidder!

I've a mid 2012 13 inch macbook pro:
2.9GHz dual-core Intel Core i7
Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
8GB 1600MHz memory
750GB 5400-rpm hard drive1
Intel HD Graphics 4000

Although I'm thinking of giving it 16 gig of ram.
You've probably done it a million times already, but check out your performance stats before spending so much money on your RAM upgrade. I have 16 Gig of Ram for fun, cost me like $99 so no big whoop, but laptop Ram could be pricey. Even when running a state of the art game, I'm not seeing it even hit 4 Gig of RAM usage. I have a buddy that has hit 10ish when compiling home made computer programs, but your 8 should be fine for most things... till gen 8 gets into full swing anyway (PC games have arguably been held back by console power. That's about to change for a while.)

Can you insert a graphics card? HD 4000 should be fine for running most games in low-mid area, but if you really want to step things up, graphics card power is where it is at. Till DX 12 anyway (not on the horizon).

My stuff worth mentioning:
HD7970
16 Gig RAM
I7-2600K
32" LED Vizio
Triton Pro headset
5.1 surround sound Yamaha system
Pioneer Bluray/DVD/CD burner
1TB x7200 HD
Coolermaster Storm Scout case
8 fans
I don't think I can put in a graphics card, but I might be able to use a USB graphics card. I want to put in 16 gig for future proofing and possible resale value. I play AAA games at mid and old games at full graphics.

How's the 7970? I've got a 6970 and while it has powered through like a champ; I'm thinking of upgrading so my wife can have my old one to replace her 4890.
