When songs are artifically looped or contain seperate artifical vocals. Like sometimes there are seperate vocals other than the one singing but no one is actually singing it is just a sound byte added, I fucking hate that. JUST USE YOUR DAMN REAL VOCALS YOU LAZY FUCKS.

Since you hate when people say "Yeah!", do you hate this song from Crazy Taxi?

OT: I hate growling and screaming.
[sup]Which is another reason I don't listen to metal.[/sup]

Songs with meaningless lyrics, or perhaps, words/items/phrases that seem mandatory of that genre of music.

I will say this honestly, though it may be painful, I mean it, I cannot stand Country, but on the rare exception that a singer says something that isn't typical of the genre, I will develop a soft spot for that singer and that singer ONLY. Not all Country singers should have to include:
-Skoal or any tobacco related products
-Gettin' Drunk
-Bull Riding
-or any vague mention of a Truck (Chevy, Ford Pickup, ETC) and/or any of the four previous entries

to gather my attention of a song. It's lazy, and you shouldn't need it to make me feel like it should be excepted any differently just because I own the same vehicle as you.

You hit more notes (in people) by not singing of your favorite inanimate object involved in some activity than in anything else. And use your words, for crying out loud. Just because you play country music doesn't mean you have to be lazy about it. Hence, I will admit my love for Conway Twitty, and ending my complaint.

Any song that repeats the word, baby.

Also when a song talks about sex, drugs and violence. Am looking at you rap genre.

I get seriously irritated when new age artists (especially rappers, ugh) use samping from good music from the 80's.

I don't like it when the people who write the songs and play the instruments aren't credited. I dislike vocal backing tracks being played during live performances. I hate lip syncing.

My pet hate IS songs. I hate singles. I listen only to albums.

Oh, but let's be less vague. Hmm. Ok. I hate everything ending in '-core'.

Seriously, before all of that nonsense, I'd have to say my pet hate is truly atrocious lyrics. Like that drivel Anthony Kiedis spews.
I don't have anything against individual songs, but I too tend to prefer to get an entire album and enjoy it, as opposed to people who get the singles. This does mean that I like check out an album before purchasing, and I believe I read about a study that showed that people who download lots of music are also the ones who purchase a lot of music. Maybe not.

I agree with OP, i hate it when bands or singers replace lyrics with woah or yeh or la. Its just lazy, irritating writing.
Five Iron Frenzy's "Superpowers": Sometimes we have a deadline/For writing our songs/Five minutes left to write this one/La, lala, lala, lala la...

I don't like music that really isn't music at all, it's just a bunch of sounds and beats smashed together for no reason. I also can't stand music by Modest Mouse or Okay, they make their voices sound bad on purpose for reasons that I can't comprehend. I also don't like music that promotes having sex all willy-nilly, abusing substances, racism(or -ism of any kind), or killing people.
How about "Please Play This Song on the Radio" by NOFX? They intentionally do the whole nah nah nah thing, and it's bloody awesome.

Breakdowns, they are so fucking boring and all these kids think it's the heaviest shit ever. Myspace is probably the worst thing to happen to metal.

Mine is quite simple and yet very common; when either the lead or back up singer says "Yeah" and worse when they go "Yeah, yeah, yeah!".

As you can tell straight away I despise "Yeah!" by Usher with the burning intensity of 1000 desert suns.

(Ironically, i hate it the same amount of suns as I have posts. woohoo (!)...

So do you have a pet hate in songs?
I agree with the hating of repetition, but i also hate when the singer starts "screaming" in a note far too high for my ears to enjoy. Knacks my speakers and my ear drums :(
