I'm writing a post apocalyptic story for my script writing class, and I've also been playing a lot of Fallout lately (the two things may be related >_> <_<). Since I tend to listen to a lot of music when I do these things I've found myself listening to some very... starc music lately.

Two in particular are the theme from 28 days later and Peter Gabriels cover of My Body is a Cage.

So, what music captures the post apocalyptic mood for you?

Nearly the entire The Fallout album by Crown the Empire. Not every song is about a post apocalyptic situation, but a good majority of them are. Whenever I listen to them all I imagine is a guy walking in a burning city.

I guess it depends on the situation on whats left - i think for authenticity you'd have to mash up some great songs along with some "less" great songs otherwise it would just look like good music survived wihich would be kind of wierd...

For me I'd go for:
Frank Sinatra - Moon River
Glen Campbell - Rhinestone Cowboy
Hendrix - The Wind Cry's Mary
The Sherilles - Will you Still Love Me Tomorow
Amaizing Grace - doesn't matter who just some version of it
Grady Tate - Windmill of Your Mind
Chopin - Prelude in D flat Major
Dean Martin - That's Amore

For me that would be a starting point and I'd mix it with some other random stuff

good luck with the Scripting class :)
