So I'm a hardcore runner, and am training for the marathon in Memphis this December. This includes lots of miles and it would be almost UNBEARABLE without music.

Anyways, everyone has their own "pump-up" music, I have alot but its just not enough and its beggining to get repetitive and I could use some new material. So that's my question, whats yalls best pump-up music? It can be for anything as long as it has the same effect. (please no freakin eye of the tiger or that dang rocky theme.)

Some examples of mine are: Remedy by Seether, Because of you by Nickelback, All my life by the foo fighters, Heavens Trail by Tesla, and so on and so forth.

Jimmy Eat World - Bleed American.

The music is so amazingly intense, especially during the last refrain, I couldn't sit still even if I tried.

Dude, how can you train for any sporting event without [a href=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mu9xx5Ri278] Eye of the Tiger[/a] by Survivor?
It's like jinxing yourself to fail.

Next you're gonna tell me you won't be using a montage to train either.

I hear ya.

When I'm in the gym I'm schizo with what music I listen too.... Disturbed is music to lift to for sure, but I spend just as much time listening to Jimmy Eat World and other not-so-angry music... just depends on my mood.

I have it, actually. It just always seems like a way too popular response.

I always go for the heavier stuff when working out. Listening to Dillinger Escape Plan while working out makes me look like a complete spazz on the treadmill/elliptical because of all the weird time signatures, but "Milk Lizard" is a great 4/4 song by them with a great ending as well. Also, for the longest time I'd end all my runs with "Opposite of Left and Wrong" by Norma Jean.

Finally, here's a new song by a band I just got into. If you're left standing (although I guess "sitting" would be more accurate) when it's over, you have my congratulations. http://www.spin.com/articles/download-awesome-metal-converge

I like
Breaking Benjamin - Blow me Away
Children of Bodom - Downfall
Manowar - Blood of a King
Fort Minor - Remember the Name
Linkin Park feat. Busta Rhymes - We Made It
Disturbed - Down with the Sickness
Dropkick Murphies - Rocky Road to Ireland

Those are the songs I remember listening to alot before football and rugby games. Helped me alot.

Oh in that case you're forgiven.

what about[a href=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LjbMVXj0F8] Iron Man[/a] by Black Sabbath
or [a href=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WFLUhSym80] Highway Star[/a] by Deep Purple
or [a href=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b714Wi4CDsQ] Everybody Dance Now![/a] if you?re not to self conscious.
And of course[a href=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HrSN7176XI] The most epic of songs[/a] again if you?re not to self conscious.

I find almost anything from slipknot's first two albums, "Slipknot" and "Iowa", can get me really pumped, especially the song "(SIC)"

this, also some song of Sonata Arctica like 8th commabndment and san sebastian is pretty fast and is my motivation. But fast songs from metallicas first album is a good one.
