Thrill Kill for the PS1 (played) and Camel for the PC.

It's a Sopwith Camel side scrolling flight sim done in glorious pink & turquoise. It is also awesome. (see http://savvygeek.com/2007/05/25/the-best-games-of-yester-year for details)
yea... i have a copy of thrill kill... of course illegit as it was never released. Is it still really piracy if the game never came out?

Tropico, it's like Sim City but less gay. You are "El Presidente" of a developing third world country during the Cold War.

Final Fantasy 1 for the NES. Still in it's shrinkwrap.

The cartridge comes with a battery to save your game right onto the cartridge when you play... it would be a fair assumption that the battery is dead by now, but no matter :)
not necessarily. My Dragon Warrior still works and its older than my Final Fantasy

I have a copy of mister mosquito. I'm guessing its rare because it really sucks
I also had one of the original harvest moons for the ps2. But then i traded it in
I liked Mister Mosquito... :(

Anyway, possibly BlazBlue Special Edition. I don't know how many copies of it there are worldwide, but my local GameStop only got seven copies in the shipment, and I happened upon the last copy that hadn't been sold in my area at the second GameStop, which had gotten around 3 or 5 copies. *Shrug* Other than that, I've never really gotten a rare game. (Unless you count imports of games that will never reach my country otherwise.)

probably .Hack//Quarentine. It's not like it's that rare, but I've never seen it at Gamestop or any other used game store. So to me it is rare.

An Original Copy of Disgaea for the Playstation 2. Very Rare now.

Also, a copy of American Mcgee's Alice. Also pretty hard to find.

StarFleet Command 2: Empires at War.

A fresh copy of the game can easily go for 100+ dollars.

Lots of rare SNES, NES, Atari 2600, Amiga and Sega Master System games.

I'd have to go with a perfect condition Secret of Mana, off the top of my head.

Metal Fatigue.
Kickass RTS released in 2000 and discontinued shortly after because nobody ever fucking heard of it.
word spread of it's awesomeness via the internets, and now it is a revered game, worshipped by /v/ as much Supreme Commander.

Probably an excellent 2-D shooter for the Genesis/Megadrive called Ranger-X. It was developed by Gau Studios and was the first and only game they ever made, a real bummer considering how good Ranger-X is.

How would one know if a game is rare or not?
You can check it out on digitpress.com.
I used that site you mentioned and "The 7th Guest" has a scarcity level of 2/10, "Mischief Makers" had a rarity of 3, and "Rayman 2: The Great Escape" also had a 3.

There were also a bunch that I had that weren't listed.
