Remember when you were young? Christmas Eve was always so exciting, waiting for Santa to come and deliver your presents, leaving out biscuits, milk, carrots... And then in the morning the presents were always amazing, even if they were just plastic junk that you'd never play with, just being able to open the presents filled you with so much joy.

But then as you get older Christmas loses it's magic and ends up becoming more of a routine, simply celebrating it because everyone does.

So, what's your real opinion of Christmas, why do you celebrate it and how much excitement do you actually get from it?

Christmas is OK. I don't feel the tradition but I understand why some people would.

For me it's just a second birthday where I get my presents.

I kind of resent it. I'm not Christian, I hate the commercialism and the obligation to go out and buy all those presents for people that you know are buying ones for you. I'd opt out of it altogether if I didn't have a kid (although I do enjoy it more now because my son's enthusiasm is infectious).

My real opinion of Christmas now?
Meh.
The excitement has worn off now and all I look forward to is getting stuff that I didn't buy.

I enjoy getting presents and seeing some members of my family. That is really all Christmas is nowadays.

I enjoy the family time.. but only os much of it until it grinds on me. The presents are good and i do see the whole purpose of it as a celebration still, unlike some poeple who just go "oh good a day a day off work".

I REMEMBER YOU JESUS!

The stories of the christmas truce still warms my heart.

I love christmas. People naturally are just happier and they work together.

I'm an agnostic socialist, so I don't really care about the holiday so much, and the adds get a little irritating, but I don't really mind it. This year my parents gave me a microphone amp (because I had bought a mic a couple years back that, while working for recording, didn't work with any of my amps) and a new chord for my guitar amp cause my old one was broken, so sometimes you end up getting useful things out of Christmas.

I don't like having to see all the relatives I despise.

But hey, I'm getting some free stuff so I can't complain.

December is cold and bleak and we need an excuse to celebrate. That's all Christmas has been and that's all it will be

I can't stand Christmas. :( As sad as that sounds I don't like seeing all those people I avoid all year.

Christmas has lost all of its original meaning. No longer is it about the mythical birth of Christianity's savior, but now its a bouta fat guy who hangs around with midgets in pointy shoes giving all the spoiled brats merchandise from your local retailers or eBay.
Seriously, why do we put trees inside, lights outside, get plastic penguins to stick in our yards, then spend several hundred dollars on mostly worthless junk for each other to celebrate Jesus being born? It is almost as odd as Easter.
Christmas is now just a merchant's holiday, another chance for them to sell themed shirts and plates that would NEVER sell without some holiday backing. They make millions off of this tradition and everyone keeps joining in.
Just like Valentine's the parentDay. Hundred dollar teddy bears and heart shaped jewelry and chocolates have nothing to do with love. If you really love someone, you don't need a special day to show it.
