Alright fair enough I'll give you that, it isn't as easy as just deciding to be happy... but that's the first step at least, no? And of course you can go back to being happy after seeing how things are. The world's a pretty fucked up place, and so are most of the people in it.g3ko said:never take anything for granted
cynicism is not a fad. i wouldn't explain further, but, beeing happy, yes, it's something to aspire to, but it isn't as easy as just chosing to be happy. Because i'd rather be a cynicall a**hole for the rest of my life than be naively happy. Besides, you couldn't go back to beeing happy after seeing the ugly nature of things.Rasputin1 said:Seems like a sure way to living a depressing life if you ask me. But hey, it's the way to go right? Maybe I should be more like you.
Sorry but, I don't buy into that cynicism shit. I think I'd much rather go back to being happy. It's much nicer like that.
But I suppose this is going with the theme of thread, I try to be the change I want to see in the world. If I want the world to be a nicer and fairer place, I have to start with myself. It's very easy to give up and be cynical, it's much harder to try and change things. As hopeless a task it probably is, I'm still gonna have a shot at it.
For the record, I'd choose naively happy over cynical asshole any day.
