Surprisingly, there's little discussion about this here. Such injustice.

If you're new to STALKER's gameplay, think Fallout 3 minus every convenience the game ever extended to the player. It's a polarizing series, really.

So, what do you want to see in the bizzarely-named fourth game in the series?

I would like to see:

- Sleep function and 'tiredness' meter.
- More weapon upgrade types (Call of Pripyat's scope types were great).
- More guns in general, because everyone's tired of the three-way F2000/G36/SGI 550K tie for the best endgame rifle. The tie has been in place for the entire series so far.
- Increase in pistol accuracy.
- Increased hunting knife stab range.
- Ability to join more factions (Monolith would have a badass brainwashing ceremony or something, Mercenaries may issue jobs and such, etc)
- The return of Faction Wars from Clear Sky, but not buggy and broken as heck.
- Higher buckshot knockback/stun against humans.
- Keep the ability to sprint in an Exoskeleton but remove the ability to lower its weight.
- Seriously, remove timed quests or howl at the player upon quest acceptance that the quest is under a time limit and that he or she must stop screwing around and do it right goddamn now. And remove time limits on collecting quest rewards.
- More than two voice actors.

Oh, and before anyone names it, yes - female NPCs were confirmed.

I second this, i keep my ear to the ground on STALKER news like some kind of crazed.... ear to the gorund guy-ok maybe not but I would like to know where this news can be found.
One of the devs from GSC has a Facebook page. He confirmed it when someone asked. I can't dig up the source through all the Facebook spam so you'll have to take my word for it for now.

I would like to remove the movement bounce... and speaking of which, can you do that? Because I'm having a lot of fun with the game but the movement bounce makes me feel sick and gives me a headache which is strange because I had no problem with Mirror's Edge.

More realism.

I can't think of anything else. Just realism in general. ..well not realistic radiation. That'd kinda ruin STALKER.

I really just want them to ship the game relatively bug free and unbroken, and maybe include a coherent plot this time.
Everything else can't be considered a wish, because I know for a fact they'll nail the atmosphere and graphics.

Are they really using Cryengine for this? If so I plan on it looking awesome. I trust GSC to make the right choices, so no wishlist ATM.

They're making their own brand new engine for it.

to make my computer actually work without the need to boost 24x AA besides that a cross between metro 2033s' engine and cryengine 2 would be cool we can call it the unreal engine
oh and a way to mark the pda since i found a meat chunk in the beginning of CoP and dropped it so i never found another and thus could take the guy in the science bunker wit me to pripyat :(

I think that STALKER 2 should include everything that made the original games great, plus add more stuff that fits well with the original gameplay, and then polish it up. And of course, make the things that weren't so good about the STALKER games better

An Xbox 360 version would be nice.
You're getting one. Now, in the words of Ahnold, Shop whining.

OT: Not being dumbed down for the console versions. CoP was fantastic. I can't wait to see what they do now that Strelok's story is told.

Nah, G36 all the way :p
I'm sure the G36 gets bigger between games. In SoC, it was a tiny, ghirly little thing, but in CoP, it was a massive manly weapon.

As far as I'm concerned the thing that STALKER 2 needs most is a return to the 'loneliness' of the original. I've played SoC more times than I can mention (mostly on veteran with Redux mod and no trading), and there really is no other game experience that comes close to creating the sense of barren loneliness and struggle to survive; for no other reason than that you need to know who you are. Clear Sky was too much of a bug-riddled fps and CoP, whilst being a great move up from the disappointment of CS had too much colour and way too many people. Call me nostalgic, but I liked the old ways, where the Monoliths were an unknown and mysterious cult, where the cold communist architecture of abandoned towns greeted you harshly after you'd spent a day traversing the danger filled wastes beyond. Bullets were precious and anomalies deadly and invisible. Where sometimes seeing the 100 Rads Bar for the first time in hours brought a deep sense of relief to your heavy shoulders and tired legs.

I don't care about which weapon is best, if you play redux on veteran, any gun with bullets in it is the best gun you've got. I don't care about factions, other than that they provide me with quests and story tension. I don't care about animation or voice acting (as long as there's no 'I said come in, don't stand there' repetition style bits. I care about feeling like you've got nobody out in the Zone but yourself and acquaintances are merely a means to achieving goals in your story.

The Zone is an unforgiving and harsh environment and GSC need to remember that. It's what made the first game so great and what could make STALKER 2 so good. Alas, I fear that console gamers will want more guns, faster kills, more items and bigger monsters and I will be left eating rat steaks, huddled in an old bus shelter outside the Garbage with only an oil drum fire for warmth and a bad guitarist and his drunken mate for company. "Here's to the barren mystery of the Zone comrade!"
