Your Saddest Game Ending [spoilers]

Can I be unoriginal as well and go for The Walking Dead? That entire final scene had my crying. Come on Season 2 already!

Beyond that, Final Fantasy X so bloody sad and not at all lessened by the fact you know its coming for about half the game. Only bought Final Fantasy X-2 because I heard you could fix that.

Really? I think you mean Fallout: New Vegas' ending, where it provides a (kind of) epilogue to the Wasteland.

Nah, I didn't find that one as good. It went into detail about every single person, place and thing you interacted with in the Mojave, and got really boring fast. I liked Fallout:3's because it was more vague, implying that the story was already in the 'annals of legend', and giving a Mad Max-esque feel of uncertainty.

The Walking Dead was pretty amazing. Games or movies don't really pull at my heartstrings too much but The Walking Dead was something else. The Last of Us is supposed to be pretty phenomenal. Will find out soon enough.

I have quite a few sad endings I want to share but I'll only add one.

Fallout 3 without the Broken Steel DLC.

I had a damn good connection to the Lone Wanderer more then The Courier (Unless I put in my thought on how they are the same person), especailly since I thought that Fallout 3 was much more better then New Vegas in terms of characters and story. It twas sad at that very final moment, and definitely the ending slideshow.

Plus a honorable mention goes to many, MANY moments of that game. (Some even came from mods. 0_o)

And then came the Broken Steel DLC. Sure it removed the sadness and made me happy again, but just remember that I finished it BEFORE that DLC came out, so I was still sad. T_T

With the good ending, Cole sacrifices himself to stop the plague, and, judging the events of Second Son, is also despised by everybody except New Marais for his actions. In the bad ending, he's forced to kill Zeke in his quest for power.

This, the evil ending made me sob!
And the ME3 ending, not for the reason you might think, but the music,

Sam Hulick deserves so much credit for the music in Mass Effect 3, its perfect.

- Metal Gear Solid 3 (and to some extent, 4. While not actually the ending, the final scenes involving Peace Walker also stood out)
- Crisis Core (Having not actually played FFVII at the time, it came as a...shock. The way the game's stupider mechanic acted as well brought a surprising amount of emotion)

You fight and you fight, and when you think you're about to get that super attack, bam, it's gone, Zack's attachment to that person disappears with his life. At the end, when the 'Digital Mind Wave' (Slot machine) is broken and stuck on Aerith I shed manly tears.

- Half-Life 2: Episode Two was the first game I ever cried to. :'(

Looks like every amazing zombie apocalypse game must end with some incredible, but simple line. "Keep that hair short" in case of The Walking Dead and "I swear" in case of The Last of Us. That was an amazing experience, worth buying PS3 for.

The ending to Conker's Bad Fur Day was pretty bleak too. I was caught off guard by just how grimly it ended. You don't expect that from a game built around dick and fart jokes.

I've played and beaten just about every Kingdom Hearts game in the series (Besides RE:Coded because I don't want to), and 1&2 always bring me to tears in the ending.
I mean.. 2 isn't all that sad, but 1... ugh.

Persona 3. Fucken Persona 3. That ending was so kind and sweet, initially. And then, I realized what actually happened. That was like a punch to the guts!

Y'know, I wasn't able to be sad about the Persona 3 ending. I understand why everyone did get sad about it, but right from the start, I absolutely despised the hero. I don't really know why. But it's fair enough to anyone who found it sad.

Yeah, I completely agree with you there. The only KH game I haven't finished yet is DDD, but I'm in the process of finishing it. I was gonna put the first two on my list, but decided against it. The ending of Kingdom Hearts one nearly had me in tears and now every time I hear any version of Simple and Clean, I just want to cry.

In the words of some wise philosopher of our modern times following the announcement of Kingdom Hearts 3, "I'm a fully grown man, why do I want to play this so badly?"

If you're referring to the E3 abridged video, then I can say that this quote sums up the whole Kingdom Hearts series for me (although I wouldn't consider myself a grown man, I would consider myself old enough to understand the feeling).

Well I cried three separate times during Persona 4's ending sequence. As in I started, recovered then got set off again by something else. The damn photo at the end got me...

Oh and Hanako's route in Katawa Shoujo. I don't think the *end* end of her route is sad, quite the opposite actually but the entire ending sequence is quite sad up until the very, very end where everything works out fine. I only teared up a bit in that though, surprisingly enough.

The ending can be summed up as:

"Why don't you let me understand you?!

"I LOVE YOU HANAKO!"

This is actually the first I've heard about the Hanako thing and the gifts in the shoe locker and such. But it sounds hilarious. I'd also just like to say that I completely understand the feeling you got with the photo at the end. And Teddie's monologue got me too.

I don't know if you've seen it, but the epilogue in Golden wraps it up very nicely, but it's also very upsetting. I recommend you watch it on Youtube or something if you haven't already seen it.

Same here. From that point onwards till the end of the credits I was constantly in tears. Even just thinking of the music again stirs up the feels again.
