This was born out of a conversation with a mate recently, but I'm curious to know: What's your entertainment set-up and how do you use it?

To give an example: I have a PS3 currently hooked up to our home theater which is made up of a 46 inch HD plazma television and 7.1 surround sound. An HDMI supplies picture only to the TV while an optical cable runs the audio into the amp. If it were up to me, I'd use the sound system all the time but somewhat more conservative members of the family will turn it off while I'm not looking for watching ordinary TV. The same people ensure that only big boomy action blu-rays are worthy of surround and will watch everything else through the TV speakers. Games however, I make a point of playing only through the amp. And I only get away with that because I live in a full on anti-gaming household and so can only do it when everybody is gone.

In comparison, above mentioned friend has a small corner tucked away in his back room where he's managed to sqeeze a 32 inch HD LCD to which he's connected a small set of stereo speakers. Also a PS3 user his audio goes into the TV first but he's long since abandoned the TV speakers choosing instead to send all audio through his little speaker set.

Anyway, how are you set-up? Do you use the family room/home theatre set-up or do you have your own little TV you've hidden away so you can watch movies or game in peace? Are you HD or still SD? Do you use the TV speakers or have you acquired an alternate sound source?
Let me know.

Oh, joy. Another "LOOK AT HOW RICH I AM AND ALL THE NICE THINGS I HAVE NOW LET'S COMPARE AND SEE IF YOU ARE AS RICH" thread.

I kid (kinda).

I have a computer that's pretty rad, hooked up to a pretty rad Toshiba HD tv, which is also hooked up to my pretty rad XBox360. There's also a second, smaller (though still pretty rad) monitor, for if anyone wants to web-surf while I'm playing games. This is all in my living room, because I'm an adult and don't live with anyone other than my wife (who only really gets a say in anything because of... well... the whole "having a vagina and sometimes letting me do stuff to it" thing. I also have a laptop and a smaller netbook handy, in case anyone wants to LAN some Doom or Diablo 2.

My brother brought a 28 inch TV years ago that i've been using for Xbox, But now i brought a 32 incher, but i can't afford another Xbox. Or should i get a PS3? Seems pointless to get two 360;s. Hmm, As for computer,i still use a desktop from 1999. Problem? Saving up for a nice laptop though.

Used to game on a 11' Emerson with mono(left speaker only) sound in 480i.

Now? I game on a 37' 1080p VIZIO. 360 and PS3 hooked up with HDMI cables and mah PS2 hooked up with composite, soon to be component.

Lemme tell you, being able to hear things to my right makes a world of difference. (O_O)

You have not lived until you have played Metal Gear Solid 4 on a small screen, 1 foot away from it. :p

Also, Cardcaptor Sakura on a big screen. :p

Heaven. ;~;

I'm not rich, I'm just a dweeb.

50" plasma 3DTV. I use the TV's speakers, they're pretty decent for built-in.
PS3 and 360.
Very decent gaming PC that runs into the tv and a 24" monitor, with KRK studio monitors for speakers(they sound dreamy).

When I spotted him I almost cowered in fear. Cheeky bastard.

OT: Meh, 22" tv hooked up to pc, then I gotta switch the HD cable to PS3 or Xbox when I'm using them.
Got my netbook and iPad on the side for in-game computing.
And the iPad has nowhere better to be.

*shrug* nothing spectacular.

I have an Xbox 360, Play Station 2, and a Wii all hooked up to an 18-inch TV. I find myself reading a lot more than playing my video games, to be honest.

I run my PS3, Desktop, PS2, and Gamecube through a projector I bought about 5 years ago(not hi-def), and a 5.1 dolby surround sound(really old) I bought from a guy at work for $80. I'm shining it on a high threadcount bedsheet($14) that's been stapled to the wall which gives me 120 viewable inches. I also have "Theater Lights" that I can dim down when the movies start(Christmas lights(free) hooked to a Dimmer($2) I bought at the hardware store). If you get creative, you can have Awesome for Cheap.

I have small old SD flat screen TV hooked up to my Gamecube and my Nintendo and of course my VHS ,what you said DVD player? that's for rich people, and as for my PC it's a crappy PC which wasn't even good in 2003 and can barely run DOS games, and seriously it lags on Freespace, that space ship game that was released on 1998, so I doubt anyone in the entire world has a better setup.
