Inspired by my fear of extreme hunger and what it drives people to do (the only time I have ever been truly afraid of zombies is actually a very cartoony depiction of them in the video 'The Last Duet on Earth', likely because it doesn't specifically SAY that they are zombies). Other contributing fears I have include morbidly fat people and carnivorous fish such as pirahna.
A pale, hairless ghoul with a viscously bulging stomach larger than the rest of its body mass put together, but its body has mainly been gnawed down to bones. Even large bits of its head and eyes look as though they have somehow been chewed off. Its teeth are a vile mix of black, yellow and red from the consumption of its own flesh and blood. Beyond simply clawing at you it spits up the non-nutritious remants of what it's eaten (in other words, its own digested puke and fecal matter) at you, either blinding you, slowing you down, poisoning you, or some combination of those. Occasionally they will still have small pockets of unhealthy flesh hanging from their limbs that they will devour to restore their health if injured.
Call them... The Consumed.
