I'm not that pro, so I guess "don't die" is the only tip I can give you.

My tip which I dispense often when people ask for advice and more often when they don't is "DO BETTER!"
It works best shouted repeatedly in a distracting fashion.

Casually suggesting "Stop doing shit" and walking off works better sometimes.

PROTECT YOUR GODDAMN MEDICS!

Seriously, I am NOT going to be healing your ass if you just ignore the guy behind you beating my ass!

Medics love me for that reason. Pyros are pure awesome for protecting medics.

well, take your time and study your surroundings and think which class is most suitable.
And always try new strategies.

When playing as Heavy, only use your fists.

It won't help you win, but you'll have a laugh when you're doing it.

We do have an escapist tf2 group (although I can't provide a link to it, just check the search bar for "tf2 group")

OT: Don't look at the enemy team excessively when you're a disguised spy. It makes you look suspicious. And try not to follow them either.

When playing a heavy, when turning corners have ur gun revved. As a Heavy, when turning a corner jump then rev ur gun(it looks cool and it gets u going). As a Heavy, never NEVER use Natasha. As a Heavy, you need a good medic who can actually play, not a pyro who plays medic.

We don't need 4 spies on a 12 man team

Also, don't underestimate the medic. In the right hands, he can deal some serious damage, and not just through charging the Heavy.

This like a thousand times.

Also:
-Backburner is useless
-Huntsman is very noob
-EXTINGUISH YOUR BURNING FUCKING TEAMMATES (Pyros, Snipers, and Medics can do this)
-Protect the Engineer's base

Survival is more important than damage; if someone who you know will outgun you is coming - Run and gun - take them by surprise and once they have there guns ready and know whats happening - run away.

Just because you don't kill them the first time - doesn't mean you can't come back 30 seconds later when they're busy with something else.

Basically - know when to retreat.

1)Turn on auto reload, turn off auto scope in the advanced multiplayer options
2)Try out every class, and find one (or a few) that suits your play style
3)Protect your medic, and have at least one when you play arena.

Everything else I know is class-related. I.e. You don't need to master the crouch-rocket jump if you're not a soldier/demoman, etc.

Don't be afraid to leave the front line for some defense. A good spy checker will always try to keep an open door between him and his team's medics and sentries.

If no one is the medic, BE THE MEDIC!

If you use the dead ringer, disguise as your own team when you use it. If they think they killed an enemy demoman, are they going to think they killed a spy? I think not.

Know each class' strengths and weaknesses and play off of them. Enemy pyro giving you trouble, pull him into the open.
