Anyone been keeping up with Doug Walker's (the guy who plays the Nostalgia Critic) new series Demo Reel?

First part, first episode here: http://blip.tv/nostalgiacritic/demo-reel-the-dark-knight-begins-rising-part-1-6420204
Second part here: http://blip.tv/nostalgiacritic/demo-reel-the-dark-knight-begins-rising-part-2-6420255

What are you thoughts on this series based off of the first episode, what are your first impressions?

I was hoping that since the NC was tired and needed to go that this new show would be better than the NC as well as the Anniversary specials he did, and in some ways Demo Reel is, but it's mostly not. It's pretty bad. The only thing I consistently liked was the German guy. Otherwise it's just bad parodies full of random crap. I think I'm done checking in on Walker's work for now. Unless the second episode surprises me, I won't be watching anything else he does.

The trailer for it was severely underwhelming and stupid, and as such I don't expect much from the actual product. Will probably give it a shot a bit later though.

Just watched it, it sucked, I skipped alot of the second half because I did not think the scenes were going any where.

Also if the youtube group The Creatures can make professional looking videos even though it is not their focus, why can't Doug seem to make this series look more professional with better audio?!

NB: I've yet to watch the episodes because of iffy internet.

Good for Doug Walker to end something with style and move onto new things!

He's a funny guy, and comedians can work wonders when in a trio.

I look forward to great and new things from this change of format. There's only so much you can do with 'screaming into a camera about a bad movie'. :p

Welshy and Sage need more focus. Those guys are actually interesting without needing to try for humor.

It was a bit inconsistent, it had a lot of the humour that I disliked in the later Nostalgia Critic episodes but there were a few bits that were really funny.

Personally i'm not a big fan of it. It has its moments but it just doesn't feel as awesome as the nostalgia critic. But it's the first episode so maybe it will improve.

About as interesting as How It Should Have Ended. Some the jokes went on too long, like the Bruce Wayne taking up an identity bit; going Mario, Spider-Man, Mario probably would've been better. Might improve if their focus was on five to seven minute sketches of movies from different series. The Sixth Sense opening is more in line with what I'm thinking. The behind the scenes portions came off as trying too hard to sell the idea that Dupre is a horrible person.

Theres potential, though i wouldnt have given up on NC for it, they could have changed it to a one episode/month thing or something.
Maybe itll be my next favourite thing ever, i mean i didnt like RLMs Half in the Bag either at first, but now i actually rewatch older episodes because i cant get enough of it.

Got around to watching it, and boy was it dull. Within ten minutes I wasn't even paying attention anymore. The only part that got a chuckle from me was the Randy Newman song they did. The rest got old really fast.

That was the single most awful fucking thing I have ever watched in my life. It didn't even have the decency to be the kind of bad you can enjoy ironically, it's just unforgivably atrocious. The black guy is the only one with any kind of talent and I can't even remember his name because Doug Walker and the other one sucked all the energy out of the video. Time seemed to come to a standstill, the costume bit was so bad I almost started screaming for them to hurry the fuck up. Overall it was a slow, tedious slog through some of the worst acting I have ever seen, and the fact that I got through 17 minutes of that pile amazes me.

I did the same thing as most people on here, I tuned out after about 5-10 mins. It wasn't great, but it was a first attempt at it. Maybe with a bit of critism they will modify the vids slightly and come up with a better end product.

I couldn't finish part one.
It was that bad.
Between the meh acting, laughably predictable jokes, jokes which just dragged on, and repugnant black and white filters and shaky cam in the 'behind-the-scenes' segments, this was easily one of the most insultingly boring shows Doug's made in recent memory.

It had a couple of good bits, but for the most part I just found it boring, stupid, and full of painfully unfunny, predictable jokes that went on for far too long.

Come on Doug, you can do better than this.

Wow, so he recycled dozens of old jokes, many from the 90s, and strung it together with a cheap, unfunny premise?

I can see why people would want more.

I hope he can at least get some feedback and improve...it would be a shame to see TGWTG die off, I mean if people just decided to bypass it alltogether and watch their favorites on blip

There wasn't all too much that made me laugh. The style of comedy hasn't changed so much from the Nostalgia Critic. And even then, the Nostalgia Critic was so stale at this point, that I was hoping for something much different. The token female actress and director characters seemed waaaaaaay too monumentally stupid for a comedy show. And the jokes were too embarrassingly old and overused. IE, the Batman jokes are really stale at this point in the history of movie media. And, quite honestly, I was really hoping for something much better. I remember seeing Doug Walker's stuff years before I ever heard of LRR. And LRR does a far better job at making me laugh than anything else that I see on the internet these days.
