In case you haven't heard,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CD2LRROpph0
Soooo, yeah at 22 million views of this upon posting, this is the song that has become popular for all the wrong reasons. I would say that it shows everything wrong with pop music today, the reliance on autotune, the monotone singing, the blatant resembalance to a certain Justin Bieber song; but most of all, and what gets on my nerves the most is that peoples standards for music has gone so low that anyone with the money to buy off some producers can autotune themselves singing about drinking and partying. They then go on to become huge hits even though they don't have an ounce of talent.

I don't get it. It's so popular because it's so shockingly bad. A similar reason to why half the internet memes are so popular.

It's a joke. The song is bad. It was made with good intentions but when she says "Friday" it sounds like a crow just died. Also it sounds more like "Fried Egg".

The video is just flat out bad from start to finish, what with Standing in the car on the highway, nothing really happening, awkward dancing girl, random black guy making a cameo despite I have no idea who it is and the girl is wearing enough make up to keep even the sluttiest of whores pleased.

The lyrics are terrible, like that joke in Family Guy with that man who sings what he sees, except she's being serious.

But what annoys me the most, is that the girl herself is an okay singer, yet the amount of Autotune is ridiculous so that she sounds like she is just being the worst singer in the world.

All the people who have watched and bought the song are not laughing along because the song is touching or awesome, they are laughing at it, because it is by far the worst music I have heard in my life.

Calumon: ...Jack's scaring me...

I am too scared to click the link if it's as bad as you say, does that I don't like pop music.
Also that does mean I had no idea Friday was a song, I thought that you were asking about our thoughts on the weekday Friday.

I reckon it's a pretty good day. I prefer Tuesdays personally, but...

...oh, you meant the song? There's nothing I feel about it that hasn't been said before.

Honestly it HAS to be a parody. If this is a serious video I have lost all faith in humankind. But more likely is that its a joke song to show how stupid modern pop music has become. In that sense its the best video ever :p

She has been fairly active in her response to the response to her video, and by the looks of it she is in fact serious. Either that or herself and everyone involved in the video are profesional rl trolls.

woke up one saturday morning and checked facebook, only to find that every single status was about some twat named rebecca black. determined not to get sucked into another viral youtube video, I decided never to watch the song that everyone at my school on monday seemed bent on singing. unfortuately my history teacher, who plays a song on his laptop before every class decided to pick this one in particular. having heard the song I decided I might as well watch the bloody video to see what everyone was getting so uppity about. it is has now been a month since she put it up, and it has 23,000,000 views... how? i'm thinking while I was sleeping someome brainwashed everyone, but it didn't affect me cause I'm Irish... just a guess.

The music is ridiculously catchy. Pretend the lyrics aren't there and you have a good song.
Actually listen to the lyrics and you get a good laugh. Seriously, "bowl" and "cereal" wouldn't rhyme in any way you can imagine. Yet, there it is, right in the first verse.

I think most people are listening to it for funnies.

And just because you don't like something doesn't mean it's bad. 22 million people listening to it, some of them are going to like that song. Chances are, they'd consider what you think is good to be a stinking pile of doggy doo doo.
Neither of you would be right. It's all just taste.

Also;
CAPTCHA: ewhim Thursday.

... Well, it made me laugh.

I'm trying my best to not get my ear canals (Did I use that correctly?) raped. So I can't really say my thoughts on Friday other than I heard it's a terrible song.

It's so bad that it's so funny.

Every single aspect of it is so bad that I just have to watch it three times in a row every time. And laugh.
