I felt like giving some detailed reasons for my choices so bear with me.
Favorites:
1. Ocarina of Time - I can't think of another game that actually had a long term effect on my life like Oot did. Many interests I have today came from playing this game as a child such my interest in fantasy and architecture.
2. Silent Hill - I may very well love this more than Oot. I love many things about this series, but SH1 left an emotional impact on me that no other game ever has. The reason abused and unhappy children are such a sore point for me originates from this game. And of course it goes without saying, Silent Hill is fucking terrifying. It's easily one of the most memorable gaming experiences I've ever had. Oot may mean more to me in that it influenced my life, but I could gush about this game for hours. Even more so than Ocarina.
3. Silent Hill 2 - Once again, I could gush about this game for hours. It's such a finely crafted experience in terms of presentation and atmosphere and its story is filled with so much depth that it left a huge psychological impact on me, as did the first game.
Least Favorites:
1. Dead Rising 2 - Played Dead Rising 2 for a few hours. Hated how slow my character was and it discouraged me from picking it up again. Shame too. I have such fond memories of the first game.
2. Silent Hill Homecoming - I don't think I could say this is the worst Silent Hill, but it's definitely the one I like the least. Mediocre gameplay, terrible horror, and a derivative attempt at a Silent Hill game. It's not the worst imo, but it's basically tied with the worst in its sheer mediocrity.
3. Skyward Sword - I will argue that, besides the Four Swords games, this is the weakest Zelda game from a game design standpoint because of it's weak overworld, unbelievable amount of padding and shallow combat. It reached some great highs, but no Zelda game ever sunk to such lows.
