In my experience alot of people think Australians are racist towards the Aboriginal community.
What they fail to understand though it is more a case of calling a spade a spade.
It remainsa common fact that they are the cause of a vast % of crimes commited, and in spite of all the money the government gives them, and all the education oppertunities they are given they still bury them selves in booze and abuse.
I cant walk for 15minutes through any major population center without one begging for money for some reason or another. Usually to make a phone call or catch the bus.
I used to work in the security industry and nearly every other day we arrested some one for stealing, four out of five times they were aboriginal. Nearly every person we turned away on refusal of service that was of Aboriginal decent was also highly abusive, if not actually physically violent towards us. However in effort to not appear racist myself, there were also alot of hill billy types that we also turned away who were also highly abusive.
I have never come across a race of people that swear half as much though, especially towards each other. Most of it isnt the "light" stuff either.
Being called a "F---ing White C---T" for doing my job is harsh to say the least.
Oh and being threatened that "im gonna get my uncle to come smash you, he just got outta jail" was always one of my "favourite" threats. They say "out of jail" like its a badge of honour.
I remember at one site we were having alot of trouble with a bunch of kids, so we pulled them aside and told them they were likely to end up in "juvie" if they kept going, their reaction was like we had offered to send them to a holiday camp
Yet as soon as we call them Black, all the alarms, bells and whistles start going off... go figure.
Just remember all of what i have said is in my experience and an expression of experiences. Not a vilifacation of any racial slur.
