I've only seen 4 movies this year two of which are from 2013 but one of those didn't get released in my country until late april. But I wont count the other one(the wolf of wallstreet).

1 Hundraåringen Som Klev Ut Genom Fönstret och Försvann (the 100 year old man who climbed out of the window and disapeard). Very dry and dark exactly the way I prefer my comedy. I haven't laughed this hard and this much in ages.

2. 22 jumpstreet Didn't see the original And while I did think the humor was juvenile for most of the time it still made me laugh

3 the last one is 300:rise of an empire which I liked but probaly woudn't be on this list if I had seen more movies this year.

As for my top hype. I usualy don't pay attention to what movies are coming out more than one month from now. But I look forward to the Raid 2 and the hobbit 3

Actually some of the best movies I saw this year are from last year as well (because late release) - Her and Inside Llewyn Davis. But I compromised for the sake of formality :p

Mind these are 2014 releases in my own country(according to IMDB), so my top 5(ehhh..top 4 :p) for this year would be:

1) The Machine
Really enjoyed this one. Amidst escalating tensions between Britain and China a robotics expert somewhere on a lone base manages to create an android with genuine self-aware thought and emotion, hoping this would be the key to saving his sick and dying daughter. Both story, atmosphere and presentation really drew me in. Best movie I've seen so far this year no doubt.

2) Wolf Creek 2
I've never actually seen the first movie but had a blast with this one. Mick Taylor is like the Australian version of the crazy hillbilly, but his wit and expert sniping skills makes him all the more menacing. Backpackers in the Austrialian outback and one pissed off crazy smart hillbilly...you know where this goes. :p The movie has some beautiful shots of the Australian outback which really does a lot to elavate the mood. There is this chase scene involving kangaroos which while gruesome have to be seen to be believed.

3) Afflicted
Cool movie about a dude with a medical timebomb in his brain who decides to live life to the fullest and plan a world trip. His best friend goes with him to film everything to post it on their vlog. Guy meets a hot chick in a bar in Paris that he takes to his hotel room and just as the saying goes when things sound too good to be true...it turns out she's a vampire. So the dude gets bit and from there the story twists and turns to its conclusion. First its all fun and games but then things get worse. Really fun ride.

4) Lone Survivor
A war movie that isn't masturbating over the U.S. military? What a surprise. :p So a group of special operatives is sent on a recon mission to gather intel about the whereabouts of a high value target. Just when they have him in their sights and wait for orders they get spotted by some pro-Taliban locals and their mission is compromised. What follows is an intense battle between Taliban and American soldiers that is spectacular to see. Apparently based on real events.

I would really like to see Days of Future Past and Edge of Tomorrow. Both look really cool and I have no doubt atleast one of them will take my number 5 spot. :p

I can only think of 5 movies that came this year which I have seen so I guess I'll just list them in the order of how I enjoyed them.
1. Snowpiercer -A fun concept with some interesting (if a little heavy handed) social commentary. It also had some beautiful visuals and a fantastic soundtrack.
2. Lego Movie -Everything is awesome! In all seriousness though, it was way better than I had expected. Funny movie with a touching story.
3. Days of Future Past -The Sentinels were awesome. The entire thing was a fun ride even if (as with many movies that deal with it) the time traveling was quite convoluted.
4. Godzilla -I enjoyed the slow burn and didn't find the main character to be as annoying as everyone else. He was just a random dude whose soul purpose was to give the audience someone to witness everything through. Could it have been a lot better? Absolutely, but I still enjoyed it.
5. Winter Soldier -I really wanted to like this movie, but so much stuff in it pissed me off and it ended up feeling like more of a generic spy thriller than a super hero movie to me. It wasn't bad, just not all that good. Maybe it was too hyped up for me before I saw it. All I know is, I left the theatre feeling unimpressed.

Edit: Forgot about the second half of the question...

I'm hyped for:
1. Interstellar
2. Guardians of the Galaxy
3. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
4. 22 Jump Street -I know it's out already but I haven't seen it yet.
5. Hobbit 3

Can't order them but I'd say my favourite films of the ones I saw this year were
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
X-Men: Days of Future Past. I still think that title is stupid, but the rest is cool, especially the five seconds we get to see Blink.
A Long Way Down. I know it's insensitive to people who may be contemplating suicide but for what it's worth I enjoyed the film.
Maleficent. Only watched this yesterday but I do love it and I'd love to see it again. Lana Del Ray's take on Once Upon a Dream is pretty good, too.
Bad Neighbours. Besides the first fifteen minutes it was pretty funny and it was watch able.

Ugh, most of the films I've watched this year were from 2013. Grr. Gravity, Dallas Buyers Club and Frozen could have easily been in the Top 5.

I'll mention all the movies of 2014 I've seen, with a brief idea of what I thought about it. The titles aren't many, but it's a short list.

1. Life Itself- The Roger Ebert Documentary, I actually saw it months before its July 4th release, and when it gets a release, I recommend you see it.
2. The Lego Movie - Cute, fun and absolutely hilarious, with a heart I wasn't expecting. I went to see it in the theater twice, and it was fantastic both times.
3. The Grand Budapest Hotel - I've seen this movie twice as well, and it's absolutely wonderful. Of most of this list, it's a joy, with a heart I wasn't expecting. Overall, a joyous experience, and Ralph Fiennes is hilarious. I won't say "Award Worthy Performance", but he's a gifted comedic soul, I'll say that much.
4. Edge of Tomorrow - Watched this last night, and I had a great time with it. The last act 20 minutes isn't spectacular, and one problem I have with it that I won't spoil but that I seem to see in lots of movies was shoe-horned in, but aside from that, I quite liked the movie.
5. Godzilla - A rather disappointing attempt on the walking Atomic Bomb allegory that is Godzilla. I liked what it was attempting to do, but lots of it, from the characters to how it sets up its story is just wasted potential for what could have been a really fun trip to the movies. ALSO TO NOTE: I had to see it in 3D due to time issues, and if you have a movie where at best, the last half hour utilizes the 3D, you shouldn't make the movie into 3D. Dammit, Studios, get your shit together.
6. The Nut Job - This one is a stinker of an animated movie, and I was working in the movie theater in my small town when this came around, so I had to set it up. Why is this movie so noisy instead of interesting? Why is it so boring? Why is there only toilet humor in this movie? Why is "Gangnam Style" playing when this movie is clearly set in 1940-1950?, and why is Psy in the credits dancing to said song? It is just awful.

In no particular order:

-The Lego Movie
-Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier
-X-Men: Days of Future Past
-Edge of Tomorrow
-....I think that's actually it.

The only other movie I've seen was "Godzilla", which sure as hell is not going on any of my "best" lists. As far as "hypes" go, I want to see Interstellar, Dawn of The Planet of the Apes, and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Trying to remember some of the films I've seen this year.

Number one has to be Twelve Years A Slave. Came out here in the UK in January. Absolutely amazing film.

Second is The Lego Movie. Really enjoyed it. Funny, imaginative, and a blast to watch.

Third is Captain America Winter Soldier. Best Comic book film released so far this year.

Fourth is Frank. Great film, very enjoyable. Great soundtrack.

Fith is Days of Future Past. It did have it's flaws, but was still a highly enjoyable film and the new mutants were fun to see in action.

Looking forward to:

Guardians of the Galaxy.
Expendables 3.
How To Train Your Dragon 2
Sin City: A DAme to Kill For.
The Hobbit.

I thoroughly enjoyed Edge of Tomorrow and I'm looking forward to Guardians of the Galaxy.

Um... not much else has really made an impression this year. Maleficent was interesting and pretty, but kind of all over the place.

God, I've only seen one movie in theaters this year... The Lego movie, so I guess that one wins by default.

It was amazing though, so even if I'd seen quite a few I wouldn't be surprised if it won had I seen more.

I've only seen three movies so far this year, none of which I would place on a best OR worst list.

So, I order...

1. Son of God: Screw the haters, this movie was fine. Aside from a couple bizarre acting choices and hilariously low-budget shots of Jerusalem, it was a perfectly watchable movie that retold the events of the Biblical account in a decently engaging way.

2. 22 Jump Street: It was pretty funny, yes, but the more I think about the movie, the less I like it. Its meta moments were great, but everything else was just... kind of mean-spirited and doesn't make me grin in retrospect.

3. Noah: Most people hated the first half and enjoyed the second. I was the other way around.

Haven't seen that many movies this year but the ones I really enjoyed and would recommend:
- The Wolf of Wallstreet - a late premiere in Poland
- Edge of Tomorrow
- Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier
- X-Men: Days of Future Past

Looking forward to:
- Sin City 2 - Eva Green kicked ass in 300: Rise of an Empire
- Frank - Micheal Fassbender is awesome
- Interstellar - Christopher Nolan hasn't disappointed me yet

I was sooo looking forward to The Raid 2 but it doesn't seem like it'll be released here at all :(

For ones that I'd put in my top five that I've seen...
1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
2. Edge of Tomorrow

And ones that I'm actually looking forward to...
1. Guardians of the Galaxy
2. Interstellar

I tried to come up with 5 for each category, but I just can't. It's not that I haven't seen much... I usually go to the theater at least once per week to see something new. I just haven't actually liked much of anything that's come out this year, and that's honestly becoming somewhat of a trend. My feelings toward the movies that came out the last few years kinda follow suit.
