These five games are listed in no particular order. These are five random games I love to death and hope to never part with...even though I've parted with two of them in past...Anyway, here are five games I love.
Final Fantasy IX: Mostly looked over since it came out so close to the end of the Playstation's life cycle. This was one of the most graphically advanced games on that platform. Unlike the other two numbered Final Fantasy's released on the PSX (other 4 if you count Anthology) the characters are unique, memorable and, fun. From the brain-dead yet, loyal Steiner to the, womanizing Zidane. The only character who could be described as 'emo' would be Vivi the black mage whose grandfather is dead and who knows nothing of his race. I really liked Kuja too though not quite as much as I liked Ultimecia, Kefka or, Ultros.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic: Taking place in a completely different era than that of the Galactic Empire, I would always tell my friends that KotOR had a better plot in one game than the new trilogy had in 3 movies. Looking back, the characters are a bit cookie-cutter (the strong, independent Bastilla and, the grey mentor Jolee Bindo stick out...not to mention the token droid and the Chewbaka clone) I loved HK-47 though! I thought the second game had better characters but, the overall plot (and the fact that KotOR was actually completed) are what put it on top in my mind.
Pokemon Silver: I never owned the original Gold. Silver was huge for a GBC game. It had 251 Pokemon, a new area and, the ability to revisit the Kanto, the land you explored in Red, Blue and, Yellow. There were a ton of Pokemon, a lot of places to explore and it was still possible to catch them all (except Mew and Celeby...unless you used the Internet to track them down at Nintendo Events or, had a gameshark) Still, I put months worth of time on several profiles in that game.
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past: It seemed like a huge game when I played it as a kid. It was also one of the first games I've ever beaten. This one is on mainly for nostalgia. Link's Awakening was the game I invested most SNES hours on. I remember unlocking just about everything too which is impressive considering that was in the time before the internet.
Saint's Row 2: It's Grand Theft Auto 3 with better graphics and, insane mini-games. The game is silly, fun, big and, brutal. The character customization allows me to play as a tiny, fat, Asian woman with a smarmy, british man's voice. The game isn't quite as polished as GTA-IV but it's incredibly fun. The first Saint's Row was good but the second improves upon the first in just about every way from better side-quests (septic avenger), better character customization (as mentioned above) and, a better aiming system. Cruise Control is also a neat feature I'm using more than I thought I would.
