1: The Elder Scolls IV: Oblivion

2: The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

3: Metroid Prime (ver 1, once the other two were released!).

4: Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - (the best Zelda game ever)

5: Golden Eye N64

They'd be my fav's, and in order of hours spent playing as well.

---

Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas are both great, and arguably superior in game play and tech than Oblivion, but Oblivion ... is Oblivion.

... The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim certainly has big boots to fill to keep up with Oblivion (IMNSHO).

5) Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition - A Wii game that actually makes good use of the remote. Being able to actually aim at stuff by pointing it makes the game so much more fun. Capping monks in the head with a pistol to set them up for a roundhouse kick that knocks away them and their buddies is always fun.

4) Mega Man X8: A tag-team system with 3 unique characters, levels that pose an actual challenge as opposed to something to blow through before a boss fight (I love sliding down the walls on Burn Rooster's stage while avoiding the spike pits), some nice unlockables, and the hardest boss fights in the series. Awesome.

3) Starcraft 2: A game that has so many different units with a huge variety of cool abilities (teleporting, transforming from fighter jet to combat walker, sweeping laser beams of death, throwing minions that attack on their own after being launched at the enemy, exploding while being hidden underground) while still being balanced? Awesome. Seeing my Brood Lords launch their minions and watch from afar as they surround and rip apart enemy bases is just so cathartic, as is seeing my Zerglings swarm those pesky thors. 1v1 matches on line are nerve-racking, but oh-so-satisfying when you score a win against a skilled opponent.

2) Mega Man Zero 2: This game is the best that 2D platforming has to offer. Smooth controls, awesome weapons and abilities, and a brutal but fair challenge. The controls are so smooth that dash jumping off walls to deliver a well-placed slash to an enemy seems like second-nature. Bosses are a shitload of fun to fight. Dashing and wall jumping from train to train fighting a panther that shoots lightning and electrifies floors, dashing from wall to wall to dodge a charging phoenix and his illusory clones, pulling enemies towards you with a grappling hook while doing your best Scorpion impression... good times.

1) Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition - Being able to switch melee weapons, ranged weapons, and fighting styles makes for an awesome customization. Rebellion + Cerberus + Shotgun + Spiral + Trickster = Win. Vergil = Best. Final Boss. Ever.

Sigh, In all honesty, I haven't been in the hardcore gaming scene for much more than a year. But hell, here we go.

5. Super Smash Bros. (The Original) Best multiplayer I've ever played. It was fun, fast-paced and took one hell of a lot of skill. Trust me, It takes a really good game to make me and my brother keep playing it for 8+ years. Melee was alright, but not as good. It was more difficult, but the gameplay felt slower than the original and a bit slippery. Brawl. Oh jesus, brawl. How did they manage to mess up so badly? Gameplay felt awkward, even more slippery and even slower than melee. Brawl also contained the dumbest idea I've ever seen and anyone who thought it was a good idea should be killed. Why does my character slip and fall on his ass sometimes? I have no comment to make that can sum up my hatred for that bit.

4. Red Dead Redemption. I don't think I have to say much here. Sure it had a few minor slip-ups her and there, but they were few and far in between. Other than that it was solid in every aspect. except the multiplayer. It might have just not been my thing.

3. Just Cause 2. Some major slip-ups on this one, like the save system, the way the black market worked. But really, the ability strap a guy to a combat jet, hop in it and fly it into the mountains is just a little bit too awesome.

2. Assassin's creed 2/brotherhood. I liked the single player of II more than brotherhood. I think it might have just been the cities, nice and colourful and damn nice to run through. Rome had one major colour and one colour gets a bit boring after 15 hours. The multiplayer of brotherhood though was fantastic. Except for how fucking long it takes to actually get into a match.

1. Metroid Prime. I cannot find one single thing wrong with it. Pure win from start to finish.

These five games are listed in no particular order. These are five random games I love to death and hope to never part with...even though I've parted with two of them in past...Anyway, here are five games I love.

Final Fantasy IX: Mostly looked over since it came out so close to the end of the Playstation's life cycle. This was one of the most graphically advanced games on that platform. Unlike the other two numbered Final Fantasy's released on the PSX (other 4 if you count Anthology) the characters are unique, memorable and, fun. From the brain-dead yet, loyal Steiner to the, womanizing Zidane. The only character who could be described as 'emo' would be Vivi the black mage whose grandfather is dead and who knows nothing of his race. I really liked Kuja too though not quite as much as I liked Ultimecia, Kefka or, Ultros.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic: Taking place in a completely different era than that of the Galactic Empire, I would always tell my friends that KotOR had a better plot in one game than the new trilogy had in 3 movies. Looking back, the characters are a bit cookie-cutter (the strong, independent Bastilla and, the grey mentor Jolee Bindo stick out...not to mention the token droid and the Chewbaka clone) I loved HK-47 though! I thought the second game had better characters but, the overall plot (and the fact that KotOR was actually completed) are what put it on top in my mind.

Pokemon Silver: I never owned the original Gold. Silver was huge for a GBC game. It had 251 Pokemon, a new area and, the ability to revisit the Kanto, the land you explored in Red, Blue and, Yellow. There were a ton of Pokemon, a lot of places to explore and it was still possible to catch them all (except Mew and Celeby...unless you used the Internet to track them down at Nintendo Events or, had a gameshark) Still, I put months worth of time on several profiles in that game.

Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past: It seemed like a huge game when I played it as a kid. It was also one of the first games I've ever beaten. This one is on mainly for nostalgia. Link's Awakening was the game I invested most SNES hours on. I remember unlocking just about everything too which is impressive considering that was in the time before the internet.

Saint's Row 2: It's Grand Theft Auto 3 with better graphics and, insane mini-games. The game is silly, fun, big and, brutal. The character customization allows me to play as a tiny, fat, Asian woman with a smarmy, british man's voice. The game isn't quite as polished as GTA-IV but it's incredibly fun. The first Saint's Row was good but the second improves upon the first in just about every way from better side-quests (septic avenger), better character customization (as mentioned above) and, a better aiming system. Cruise Control is also a neat feature I'm using more than I thought I would.

1. Red Dead Redemption. I never thought a newer game could take first place, especially as easily as RDR did. RDR is everything I have always wanted in a game with an amazing story, tight gameplay, beautiful open world, lots to do, AWESOME multiplayer and cowboys!

2. The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. It was everything [Prototype] wanted to be and more. Epic fun.

3. War of the Monsters. An old PS2 game, I've rented it countless times and recently bought a new copy of it from Dungeon Crawl in Melbourne. It's addictive, destructive and wickedly cool. We need a HD remake on PS3/360 (because our X360 brothers shouldn't have to miss out).

4. Pokemon Gold/Silver - Heart Gold/Soul Silver. Amazingly fun, deep yet accessable and awesomely addictive, they're the reasons why Pokemon Gold/Silver are collectively one of the best games ever for me. Plus, you can get all the Diamond/Pearl and Ruby/Sapphire pokemon in them too!

5. Ratchet and Clank. The first PS2 game I ever bought and still my absolute favorite PS2 game of all time. It's fun to play, has an awesome galaxy-spanning story, and loads of crazy guns.

In no particular order...

- 007 Goldeneye (N64 Version)
- The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
- Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
- Halo Combat Evolved
- WWF No Mercy

Although it was soo hard to narrow it down to only 5, Ill probably disagree with myself once I click post.
