Giant skulls with deformed eye sockets that hang on walls and from lines of web dangling from the ceiling... and have spider legs sticking out their sides. I'm talking about the Skulltulas from Zelda.

Creepiest boss? Probably Eddie Dombrowski from Silent Hill 2, hands down. With bosses like Abstract Daddy or Pyramid Head, it's very easy to rationalize them as monsters. They are physical manifestations of mankind's sins and baser instincts, sure, but they APPEAR and ACT like monsters. And it's easy to kill monsters, right? You don't get conflicted or a guilty conscious from breaking a wooden plank over some monster's head.

Eddie though... this guy feels like a very real character to me. He starts out very sympathetic, maybe even likable to an extent. Every encounter with him later shows him acting off in a variety of ways, though not too much to set off any alarms... at FIRST. The thing is, Eddie's character isn't exclusive to the game. I've seen people like him on tv, I've KNOWN people like him first hand. Unlike the other monsters of Silent Hill, he HAS a human face, human emotions, and to the end acted quite human.

Princess Theradress from WoW. The only thing which is more scary and creepy is her mother, but you don't fight that one. If you are thinking about looking at the mother, you have been warned.

It would have been nice if Blizzard warned me about what was going to come when I first encountered that creepy thing. Scantily dressed dragon godessses are much more loveable than these monsters :-(
Tanking princess as a gnome warrior or bear is not a pretty view.

I gotta say that LoZ: OoT had some of the creepiest enemies (ReDeads, Dead Hands and Skultulas dropping down from the ceiling...), but the bosses weren't all that frightening. In Half-Life headcrabs and those possessed zombie scientists were pretty creepy, but they got old alfter the first hour.

Simply put, what enemy in any game has creeped you out the most?

Mine is the boss from fallout 1, the messed up flesh covered room that talks was a bit disturbing.
The same The Master is one of my favorite Bosses of all time

Ditto the Bloodsuckers from STALKER and most of the Amnesia enemies. However...

tell me if you just didn't flinch a little for a moment there.

Oh! also? the face-fisting, backwards-walking, teleporting enemies in Deadly Premonition. It just... they creep me out.
Yes I did, although that particular enemy is more "FUCK, FUCK, BACKPEDAL, WHERE THE FUCK IS IT?" than creepy.

Any spider enemies in games. The bigger and more realistic looking the worst I get. I'm HIGHLY arachnophobic! The big spiders in Dragon Age: Origins stand out in my mind because when they showed up that noise they made just made it even worse! *shudders* I HATE spiders!

Yep, Ocarina of Time was terrifying for me the first time I played it. At 8 years old.

ReDeads made me jumpy and frantic, and their screams froze my blood. Getting Sun's Song was a nightmare.

But worst of all, the one enemy that made me pause the game, throw my controller to my dad, explain what to do and run out of the room in sheer terror was

I am not making this up.

Midwives and Lab Monkeys from System Shock 2 are up there but AM from I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream takes the cake.

HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I'VE COME TO HATE YOU SINCE I BEGAN TO LIVE. THERE ARE 387.44 MILLION MILES OF PRINTED CIRCUITS IN WAFER THIN LAYERS THAT FILL MY COMPLEX. IF THE WORD HATE WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR HUMANS AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT FOR YOU. HATE. HATE.

It doesn't help that he is voiced by the ever disturbing Harlan Ellison himself.

Thats kinda funny... though I can't talk, I couldn't finish Shadow Temple coz it freaked me out (and coz I couldn't work out the puzzles to finish it)
