I am currently watching "The Mist" by Stephen King.
And that is already now one of my favorite monster films.

My top three:

I'm not really a fan of monster movies, except Godzilla (lol).

But one movie that I really enjoyed was The Host. It was different, and realistic. I'm pretty sure what happened in the movie would happen IRL.

What constitutes as a monster? Do those suffering from the Rage virus a la 28 days/weeks later count as monsters? Superzombies? Are zombies monsters?

That said, I'll throw Cloverfield down for a number three spot. Though the ending was incredibly predictable, I still quite enjoyed the film.

Mine are the old Godzilla movies. The Mist movie sucked, compared to the short story. I find it hard to say I liked any movie that I read the book for. By the way, does Land Before Time count?
